He basically said, " I know this is their first moment and their big moment, but these coaches bust their butts and you don't need to play games. That isn't fair to John Groce. He is going to be a beast, but lets not start things off like that." It's hard to disagree with that. It's weird when these kids do the preamble where they thank everyone for pursuing them and then turn around and pull a move like that. Someone did it to KU a few years ago, and I was pretty chapped. Its ignorance and self-centeredness. I was almost more annoyed at his mom laughing about it.

I think cliff could have committed at any time. I very much doubt he was told to wait till okafor committed elsewhere. The disparity between the two isn't great enough to make cliff a conditional offer. It is when Okafor comes with Jones Or when you can [expletive] tell him to wait and see and still get him in the end anyway

The snider thing was a raw deal. Still not convinced your not getting big cliff. You got him, it is breaking everywhere. Another star leaves the state. The hell with college basketball. If Alexander goes to Kansas, it just shows that showing kids they're your #1 priority means nothing. Self told him he was their backup plan, Snider was recruited over, and they both go crawling back?

Yep. Snider originally committed to Louisville then decommitted 6 months or so ago because he was being recruited over. (Jaquan Lyle verbaled, then decommitted shortly after this) Pitino supposedly doesn't re-recruit decommits. Nothing in terms of smoke until Snider's LOI didn't come in on Wednesday. Staff believed he was still on board until after he signed with Louisville. It's garbage

THIS! There's precious little Offseason Rumors in this thread. Seems like every topic degenerates into the same tiresome discussion. Maybe start a Ricketts Sucks/Whining/We're Doomed thread for this stuff? Maybe it's the cubs that have become tiresome. Their offseasons haven't exactly been intriguing. Before Ricketts it was Hendry and before that Tribune Company. There will always be something. The point is it doesn't have to dominate every [expletive] thread on the forum. This thread would be about 3 pages if it stayed on topic. There are plenty of people who care about the offseason buzz. The only people who care about the endless Poor Tom Ricketts bs are those perpetuating it. But they go hand in hand, the offseason has been limited the past 3 years because Ricketts is a cheap ass. How can you separate the 2? -
I didn't notice a mocking tone when we weren't on a 5 year run of being one of the worst teams in baseball. Only the Astros have been worse since we were last good.

Haven't we been stealth bidders on a bunch of guys we didn't get. It's starting to mean to me that we'll sign him if there's no market for him. -
Kids didn't know who Bear Bryant was either. It takes a hell of a long time for a blueblood to be down before they lose their status. Nobody's choosing the Georgia or A&M job over the Nebraska job. ETA: Maybe an SEC fanboy like TT would.
