  1. The Cubs fan base is [expletive] awful, and it's easy for the Cardinals to be propped up as dedicated when they never [expletive] lose. Oh, come on. The people suck, just like any large group of people (and large group of baseball fans), but they draw everywhere they go, especially when they're good. If the Cubs fan base is [expletive] awful by the standards we're talking about (not whether they're douches or morons or racists or whatever other negative qualities you get with large groups of baseball fans), I would love to know how you'd characterize the rest of baseball. [expletive] awful?

  3. Send it to Cardinals hell please
  4. And that's why you don't sign free agents. Althought Zimmermann probably would've cost us Kris Bryant.
  5. Never listened to them. Don't really know who they are. But damn is Quigley squirming when that news came across.
  6. Hmmm did this last longer than Mike North's web radio thing? Either way, can @thekapman please go to whatever hole we dumped Mike North into?
  7. I would think having kids would make you want to have more day games. Drop em off at school every day during the school year, home in time for dinner.
  8. I'm sorry stuy, Penn State has already copyrighted #TeamOutlaw
  9. The rumors all along have been $150+ million, so I have trouble believing they would waste everybody's time by offering $110-$120 million. Cafardo is pretty good
  10. I think he did officially retire and no thanks on the latter. He can come in and do the 7th inning stretch this year in his best Harry Caray imitation. Only if wexy is there.
  11. http://www.csnchicago.com/cubs/jon-lesters-interest-cubs-dates-back-2013 That sounds better than the tweet. Dempster probably wasn't the guy to ask how it was for his family though.
  12. Seriously, though, it's why I get so frustrated when people (fans and journalists, primarily) talk about throwing another year away if you don't find "the right deal." STFU, throwing away a year of this payroll flexibility and the cost control on our position player base would be incredibly dumb, idiots. It's not like David Price is going to sign for 60/5 or something. You're forgetting waiver claims.
  13. Well that was something that was just written.
  14. I saw someone post a slightly older tweet from McCarthy from a few months ago saying he could blow peoples minds and make the case Gomes is more important than Lester. I would like to see that case. I know McCarthy said the 2012 Oakland A's would have been a 70 win team without Gomes and Brandon Inge. He seems to be all in on clubhouse chemistry. http://archive.azcentral.com/insiders/nickpiecoro/2013/03/12/brandon-mccarthy-talks-leadership-analytics-miguel-montero-on-miguel-cabrera-other-stuff/ And then the 2013 A's won 2 more games without Inge, Gomes, or McCarthy
  15. I'd kinda hope for more positive spin from stupid suck-up Dempster.
  16. Popping Champagne, high fives, desserts.. i dont know only spoke to him through texts. His words was it seemed celebratory.. also said it was 10 people in the private dining room. I'm pretty sure those things were comped when PTR snuck a plastic fly in his soup.
  17. I'm not sure the fact that 1 out of 2 girls went home rather than charge them with rape is really much grounds for not believing the accusation
  18. At least Kansas lost
  19. Hoops heard that the A's were interested in signing a major leaguer at some point this offseason. He scooped all of them.
  20. TT prefers our big acquisition be some sort of waiver claim with Brett Anderson backing it up
