Ray King vs. righties this year in admittedly small sample .324 .418 .603 .347 .423 .474 in '06 .352 .432 .549 in '05 Point being King shouldn't get out Chipper and Tex dammit.
I meant actual hitters, not guys like Laynce Nix. Though, I do feel a tiny bit bad for Yost, every single move he makes now that doesn't work out, he's gonna get absolutely reamed for.
Yost opts to not double switch out Braun despite him ending the inning. Wonder if last night had anything to do with that... Joe Dillon comes up replaced by Gross instead.
shouldn't be a problem freeing a spot by 10/15 if they make the playoffs - Cotts - Novoa - Mateo - Ohman add Floyd, Trachsel, and Monroe if they don't I wouldn't be in a huge rush to deroster Mateo if they didn't have to.
Braun was playing 3B at the end of his college career according to thebaseballcube. His playing SS through(at the latest) his sophomore year doesn't mean much to me considering the nature of everyone being a SS in college. Yost(as I'm sure you've read) claimed Bush was coming back out for the 7th, but he tired going 1st to 3rd. I don't really buy that, but I can't come up with another reason as to why Bush would hit but not come back out. That was vintage Dusty.
I was stunned at his early season performance, I know relievers are inconsistent year to year, but Howry had a nice long track record. I expected Eyre's numbers, but Howry's poor performance had me baffled. Great to see him turned around.
