I do not get the Gus Johnson love. Not that I think he's bad, he's fine actually. But the love is ridiculous. I don't need the announcer to be the most excited person in the stadium. Ha HAAA!! -
For all the conflict of interest talk, don't expect to get anything out of it. Baseball is a one man dictatorship and it's not Selig who's pulling the strings. It's Reinsdorf.

Ferentz shoulda ran to the NFL when he had the chance. Upon flaming out there, he'd wind up making more money at whatever college he went to afterwards anyway.

Yeah, you backtrack quite a bit doing ohare to wrigley. Though I guess I'm thinking kind of narrowly. Blue line to addison then bus/cab (not familiar with the bus routes) to Wrigley wouldn't be too painful.

Midway is a perfectly fine area. Nothing close to being a ghetto. There's plenty of hotels within a few blocks of the airport/orange line, both cheap and expensive places. I also disagree that it's easier getting from O' Hare to Wrigley compared to Midway. Midway's an orange line to the loop, then red line to Wrigley. O' Hare you have to go past Wrigley, then come back north after transferring in the loop.

DJ can celebrate all he wants. He has been through a lot in his career at IU...the Mike Davis era, multiple injuries, the Sampson fiasco...he finally has a chance to play for a Big Ten title. ...the petulant ducking out on practice yesterday.

Brian Randle may be done for the season. Sad ending if true. He'll be successful in the real world, but it's a shame he couldn't stay healthy in his 5 years in Champaign. This IU thing is getting loonier by the minute. Does that mean McCallum wasn't at practice. Is he trying to sell himself as the interim coach? Is he Sampson's guy, and is Sampson leading the kids to push for McCallum? Just a total mess.

I feel bad for IU fans. They don't deserve this mess. At some point Kelvin Sampson needs to think about the kids and tell them to play out the year. Especially since he made a point at the MSU game talking about how this is all about the kids anyways. I would agree with this, although it hasn't been the IU way recently. When Knight left and the players threatened to leave, Knight encouraged every player to transfer. When Davis left, he encouraged players to transfer. Hopefully Sampson doesn't make it 3 for 3. Not saying it was right for Davis or Knight to do it(it wasn't) but they had better justifications than Sampson.(Though I guess you could trace some sort of somewhat weak parallel between Knight and Sampson being removed for non-basketball reasons, though being in that sentence would surely sicken Knight) OT somewhat, where's Knightlife in Lubbock been? I don't recall him being banned or anything.

No official word, they keep moving their press conference time(last I saw 6:00 (Eastern Time I think)) Last I heard assistants Dakich(rumored interim coach) and Meyer(named in the NCAA report) were running practice. No word if McCallum(the player's choice for interim coach) was there or not.

The question is what do you do for tomorrow assuming those 6 are there for the game. Bench them for a half? The remaining 6 players for IU are Eric Gordon, Lance Stemler, and a bunch of trash.

if you're only buying 1 ticket. Sometimes it's fun to bum around the ballpark solo for a day. I buy for a group though, I'm finding the Brewers are even tougher now than the Cubs because their system is worse (at least, it was last year). if i lived in the area it'd be a different story...i'd bum around wrigley by my lonesome all of the time...going to chicago is basically a vacation for me, so when i go the g/f and others want to go with. the only game i really wanted was aug. 2nd, my bday....i got in fairly quickly and it seemed the best i could do was behind a pole, then it booted me and i never got back in until all that was left were upper deck outfield seats...i want to be a little closer to the action. Upper Deck anywhere > Terrace Reserved -
Reportedly, IU players will do whatever DJ White tells them to do. I'm assuming they play Saturday, but wouldn't be shocked to see some offensive black arm band or something to show they were thinking of Sampson.

Dusty is by most accounts a very engaging individual and a good man. He also set back this franchise with his archaic thinking and never took responsibility for his actions. I wish him well in his personal life, but in his baseball life, I never want to see him be successful. Call it petty(it is), but he could've ruined us for a long time if we weren't saved by a bloated payroll.

If true,(and that quote from ccCub is pretty damning) I'm disappointed in White. He's been the guy through all of this that everyone seems to agree smells like a rose and deserves better. I understand his frustration with the situation after having to go through the coaching ordeal with Davis, not to mention his injuries, but still you made a committment to the school and even making an empty threat like that is bush league. But again, I'm willing to wait and hear everything(cause there's a lot of reports/rumors flying) before I lose respect for him.

Not necessarily. I may have an extra. And there are still bleachers available for that date. I just can't buy any. Yeah assuming there's still some left when I get home today, it won't be a problem. I can't imagine I'd have to pay much more than 10 bucks over face for one anyway, so it's not a problem. -

As long as we're pissing on all things Mizzou, I'm gonna point out that Illinois has like a 75 game winning streak against them in basketball. And we suck this year.
