    I don't understand why people are fine pointing to Theriot's stats this season, but toss Ronny's out without a thought. Is it because Theriot was some sort of stud last year?? Cause he wasn't, if not for his baserunning he woulda been a terrible everyday SS. Now this year he's been a terrible baserunner, so he's going to have to hit better than last year just to match his value from then. Don't tell me in one sentence that Ronny's only done it for 50 ABs and then in the next tell me that Theriot gets on base at a great clip.

    That might be going a bit crazy with the Pie love. If we could get Griffey cheap enough, Id do it in a heartbeat. Nope, Pie more than makes up for any possible difference with the bat with his glove. Griffey would be a brutal defensive CF.

    Pie is a better total package in CF than Griffey right now.

    I don't think so. Baseball is a team game unless the pitcher strikes out 27 guys and gives up no hits. If a player makes an error in the field (non pitcher) and the next guy comes up and hits a tater why should the pitcher bear the brunt? right, it's a team game, and the team lost because Dempster coughed up a 2 mile bomb to Dunn. but according to his ERA, he was totally awesome, so we get to win the game, right? Dempster was totally awesome last night. He gave up 2 bombs, that's it.

    I don't remember what game I was watching, but this exact scenario came up with the 2 out HR after the error, and the pitcher was charged with an earned run for the HR. I thought they changed the rule to count HRs as earned no matter what.

    because he was never recruited very hard by weber or his assistants. i'm actually really shocked that he's not headed to minnesota, really shocked. he's got a lot of potential, that's for sure. but with the other guards in illinois, he was high on the illini's wish list for about 2 seconds---decided to bide his time and wait to make a decision, and then found himself out in the cold. He chose IU for the playing time. that seems to be the word. if he DID have offers from ku and uk, and was more interested in minny and iu, it makes sense that he would have chosen iu so that he could play right away. I can't speak for UI, but I'm pretty sure we never offered him. We definitely sniffed around. I believe his dad and Self became friends while Self was at UI. But I'm pretty sure we were lukewarm on him. If we offered him it was awhile ago, and has pretty much been off the table for the past year.

    Cordero has looked terrible this entire inning, you don't take that risk unless it's rolling around the backstop AND IF YOU'RE RYAN THERIOT YOU DON'T SWING AT A BORDERLINE PITCH 3-1

    Chopper in front of the plate Soto's throw was wide, Lee kept the bag long enough, but Chuck Meriwether called the batter safe.

    WTF does that even mean? Cincy announcers were ripping Pies def at beginning of the game Hahaha. Even the biggest of Pie bashers around here admit his defense is top notch. Ronny needs to pinch hit for Fontenot if a lefty comes in. Did you not read my post before? I said his defense is whats keeping him up here! Did you not read my post? EVEN THE BIGGEST OF PIE BASHERS AROUND HERE ADMIT HIS DEFENSE IS TOP NOTCH
