Kroeger is a lefty. I know. He's still a better option than McGehee vs. lefties.
-
CC Sabathia just won the Cy Young with that Dodgers HR.

It depends on how you read it. If you read it aloud and say "en-dee" then most people are gonna think Notre Dame. Nobody talks about North Dakota out loud calls it "en-dee."

Fantasy Football 1st round pick help...
SouthSideRyan replied to Clem Fandango's topic in Fantasy Sports
I hate drafting backup kickers, TEs, and (to a lesser extent) defenses. If there's a good TE/Defense hanging around late, I can see it, but picking one up just to have a backup was always foolish to me. I'll take the lottery pick on the RB/WR every time. LOVE the Cotchery pick. -
And I'd have to imagine it's Fox to the 60 man and Harben outrighted. Though I guess they could add Hill to put him to the 60 man. To once again hammer on the Matt Craig point, he KILLS lefties. OPS vs them in his minor league career of ~960. Last 2 seasons over 1000.

I said in the game thread it's a borderline call, I could see either it going either way. But like instant replay, there's not enough there to overturn this call. -
McGehee was not quite the right handed hitter off the bench I've been pining for. It's not even like he's had a great year and they're rewarding him for it. Dubois or Kroeger were the clear contender for that honor. Failing that, Matt Craig again did nothing but hit this year. I think McGehee is seriously getting the call so he can be a 4th catcher, and that's just lunacy.

How do you not call up a pinch runner??

Fantasy Football 1st round pick help...

Adrian Peterson should probably be the first pick. The way my draft worked we went in order getting to pick our spots. I had 2nd choice and took the 3rd pick cause I knew some dumbass was going to take Brady 2nd after LT went 1st. -
Haha, who's still following us compared to the wild card?? We're making the playoffs, live with it.
-
Yeah, I was in a bar, so I didn't really get what happened or if he ever came back, but he definitely went back to the locker room in the 2nd half. I didn't see anybody mention it in this thread, so I thought he musta came back.
-
I think that's borderline. One I could see them ruling an error as was, but nothing egregious enough to overturn either way.
-
Pretty sure Brad Lidge is going to pitch the 9th inning.
-
what did he do Pumped his fist after the K.
-
Yeah it's a good thing Soriano never hits in important situations. Certainly never against the Phillies.
-
I'd go with DeRosa, but I'm guessing Lou does go with Fontenot cause he did put him out there for an inning earlier this year. I figured last year's disaster was enough to stop him from doing that again, but apparently not.
-
Theriot stayed in to play SS after pinch hitting earlier. We have no choice here. Wow, or not. I think I'd PH Fontenot here instead since he's coming in anyway. WARD! Let's go SORI!!!!!

You're right. It's smart for Yost to keep running your best pitcher out there for complete games in 6 or 7 run games. This. Can you give me some sort of defense here Brewersguy for why Sabathia should pitch with a 7 run lead? What is there to gain from it? Even if it's a 1% chance of wearing him down for the postseason, why do it?? Can the worst guy in the pen not get 3 outs before they give up 7 runs? It's flat out dumb.
-
I wonder if enough dumbass writers are out there to give Sabathia the Cy Young. If Webb doesn't finish strong, I'm thinking it's gonna happen.
-
Which is why I really want somebody who's a righty with power to be on the postseason roster. I just don't know who it could be other than sorting through Craig, Dubois, and Fox, and hoping you get lucky.
-
Yahoo's frozen, what's going on, are they just utterly stunned at Sabathia still being there so it's locked up?
-
Yeah I'm not getting the complaining, that was a strike.
-
Sabathia and Lincecum are neck and neck for PAP title. Pretty much exchanging spots with each one's start. Lincecum's abuse is defintely worse because of his size and experience, and the fact that the Giants aren't going anywhere. But Sabathia's continued use during games that are well out of reach is pretty damn reckless.
-
I'd bet Sabathia comes back out so he can go for the 1 hitter. Of course these have probably been pretty low stress pitches, so it's not that big of a deal. Still fun though to see him throw another 120 pitch outing.
