Look, I like watching IU suffer as much as the next guy, but why the f wouldn't you switch away from that to UM/MD today, after switching away from an actual close Ilinois game yesterday to watch the refs in the Iowa game look at a replay for a half hour?

That's definitely a new one. I think trait would be a better word, he does have those qualities as far as his inside out swing and good bat control that allows him to send much of his contact to short RF as far as a prototypical #2 hitter. He also has a high GIDP rate which is not so good for a 2 hitter.

and after reviewing how much it would cost to buy out weis' contract, i'm guessing. It wouldn't shock me if that played a big part. I was hoping they'd fire Weis just so that they'd tempt Urban Meyer with mega money. It's pretty much the main reason Weis is being kept. If they win less than 9 games next year, I think he's gone, and they'll back a dumptruck full of money up to everyone. Meyer, Saban, Stoops, Belotti, Kelly, whomever.

good news is we can shoot and we can score inside. bad news is that our interior defense sucks. if we can't stop anyone, we might have to pull simpson off the bench. na dont burn him. he will be more important in the coming years when we are good. legion will be enough to get us in the tourny this year, which is all we could hope for. I don't think he'd make that much of a difference on interior defense anyway. Obviously different circumstances, but it's not like Pruitt was able to step in during the title game and slow down May. Big men are slow to adapt, and defense is probably the last thing they pick up. You want a body in there to take up space, give CJ 10 minutes a game.

Agreed. Plesac was terrible in the play-by-play role -- worse than Joe Carter bad. How can you be so right and so wrong in the same post? I'm biased just b/c I like him and his family but with that said, he's much better talking one on one as far as baseball moreso than in the booth. Like Len and Bob, I think he underestimates the intelligence of those listening. I think you overestimate the intellignece of those listening. And can Plesac take Kaplan with him please? -

its not our fault greg monroe and patrick patterson didnt want to play for us. black guys hate us i think. The real truth of the reason is Duke does not change their academic standards for anyone athletes or not and they have some of the highest standards in the country. That makes it hard to get the inner city kids that tend to be the really great basketball players and are more often black. This is why Duke will never ever be good at football. You can't find 20 great players who are smart enough to get in let alone the 30-40 you need to compete in football. You can find 7-10 very good basketball players who are smart enough. I applaud Duke for not lowering its standards and its just unfortunate that right now the inner city is predominantly black and that's where most of the great basketball players come from. Duke lowers their academic standards for a fair amount of basketball players. Hell, they are recruiting John Wall. Sean Dockery got like a 17 on his act.
