Nice to see Duke playing a true road game outside the B10 Challenge, they must've been waiting for the Democrats to get the White House back before trying that again. I was stunned they played in Mackey even, thought for sure that game would be in Indy. My favorite was them playing their challenge game against Iowa in Chicago. WTF?

Penn State, Northwestern, Minnesota, and Iowa have all improved drastically. I expected PSU and NU to be much improved, but even they've looked better than I thought. I thought Minnesota would slip a bit, and I thought Iowa was garbage.

The Big 10's top teams(MSU, PU, Wisky) have been disappointing, but teams 4-11 have all been better than I expected.

If the options are Abreu or Ibanez for RF, we're definitely better off with the 6 headed CF/RF/2B monster.

but their outfield (offensively) would be significantly worse. i guess there's a good chance that would be the case even if ludwick stayed though Depends on Rasmus production and the Ludwick drop off. It could be about the same or slightly worse. I too think Rasmus is a good bet to outperform any #s he's put up in the minor leagues. -

If there's one thing Lou has done here, it's play the guys who deserve it. Who has rotted in his "doghouse" that absolutely should have been on the field? Scott Eyre and Mike Wuertz. Although, in general, I agree with your sentiment that he plays the guys who deserve it. You could argue Ohman as well. Check out the common bond Mr. Gregg.

If the Cubs are under this hard of a budget cap, and are pooling all their money to get Peavy and a RF, maybe they shouldn't have spent 13M on Ryan Dempster.(Not that I ever buy a word Sullivan says, sensationalist hack and all, nor do I think the Dempster contract is that bad in a vaccuum, but seriously?)

First off, the Big Ten plays 18 conference games. Secondly, unless you have a bear of a non-conference(Michigan), it's gonna take at least 22 wins to make it from the Big Ten this year.
