  1. OH MY GOD IT'S ELEMENTARY STATISTICS.
  2. Holly Rowe has had her boob hanging out all night.
  3. Maybe you should know what the hell you're looking at before criticizing.
  4. I wouldn't trust Nick Saban to watch my dog. And he's been dead for 21 years.
  5. i think psu wins either 7 or 8 games the rest of the way, ending up 21-10 or 20-11 going into the big ten tourney. their OOC schedule was such a joke that i think they need to end up a couple of games better and then win at least one game in the big ten tourney. thing is, his projected W's and L's are hard to argue with. He has PSU beating IU twice (duh), then Minnesota, Iowa and Michigan at home. If you want to squeeze out 2 or 3 wins, you're talking about a win @ Iowa (totally doable), then maybe Wisconsin at home or @ OSU. i don't think illinois is as good as they're rated right now; i actually think that penn state should beat illinois here. i don't think any of the home games (including wisconsin and michigan st) are out of reach. the only road games that are basically auto-losses are @purdue and @michigan st. @illinois is probably a loss but for some reason we seem to do okay there. i don't think there are any road games, aside from indiana, that penn state should necessarily be expected to win. You should be favored at Iowa
  6. His "major contributors, significant contributors, role players, limited roles" categories are going to either need a larger sample to be accurate or some fine-tuning. Yeah, I was hoping there'd be an explanation on the main page explaining those, but there was none. He doesn't really measure individual defense, so those rankings seem to be offensive based only with in the very least a large slant towards scoring. The titles are more just fun to see so you can make fun of Chris Kramer being ranked "nearly invisible" Here's the explanations. Well yeah, I know those, it's that he doesn't explain his basis for defining significant contributor/role player/invisible/etc.
  7. i can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. but jim rice 100% deserves to get in over andre dawson, jack morris (wtf explain yourself), dave parker (wtf explain yourself), don mattingly, and dale murphy. I had a hard time explaining to my boss why I was putting people's heads on D-X's bodies, so I'm gonna try and stay away from multiple windows here: Top of my head, Murphy and Parker are slightly lesser hitters than Rice with way more defensive value, and way more baserunning value. Mattingly, I recalled being a better hitter with some more defensive value added in. Dawson's a worse hitter with more defensive value and more baserunning value(probably a wash, but I give him some injury credit cause I'm a homer and Olympic Stadium sucked) Jack Morris, I hate him, and you might be right, I can't remember how good or bad he was, I just know he had some longevity, but you're probably right, he doesn't belong over Rice.
  8. And can Jack Morris's 15 years get over with soon please? I guarantee you he's the next Jim Rice for 70 year old sportswriters to write about it being a crime of humanity that he's not in the HOF.
  9. Top of my head, guys I'd vote for over Rice. Rickey Henderson Andre Dawson Bert Blyleven Jack Morris Tommy John Tim Raines Mark McGwire Alan Trammell Dave Parker Don Mattingly Dale Murphy David Cone Jay Bell
  10. Jim Rice will get in, and probably be the worst player ever elected by the BBWAA.

The titles are more just fun to see so you can make fun of Chris Kramer being ranked "nearly invisible" The new information is really interesting and exciting. However, it definitely needs some fine-tuning, I think. Any player ranking system that has Malik Story and Verdell Jones III ahead of Nick Williams based on this season has some flaws. ETA: That probably won't sound egregious for non-IU fans, I know. I'm assuming there are better examples nation-wide; but, from a micro perspective, Williams has clearly been superior. He nailed Tijan Jobe though.

  13. Well, SEC baseball is equivalent to AA, so he's close.
  14. That is a lot of information. Speaking specifically of Illinois, it's amazing how good they've been despite almost never getting to the FT line. They never really have under Weber. They have the #s dating back to '05, and that team didn't even do it.
  15. Pomeroy has his team pages updated now with pretty much all the information you need on one page. It's a great time waster.
  16. Tough break for the Bears, Packers and Vikings. Tebow is returning for his senior year. Tough break for the Saskatchewan Roughriders too.
  17. Looks like USC has the tough draw of Oregon St. and Stanford again next year. No way they survive that gauntlet.
  18. Bubbbbbbbbbbbaaaaaaaaaa
  19. Man, Cole looks terrible.
  20. Bill Cole sighting!
  21. I really want to make some queso dip for Hunter Tylo.
  22. USC has played 13 bowls in Cali over the past 18 years? Florida with 15?? And you act like this is no big deal, the bowl games are the ones that the idiots place the most importance on and those are the ones that these teams get home games in. Standard disclaimer that playing bowl games in the Big Ten area would be colossally stupid. Just saying the way you write it off is pretty weak.
  23. How's Dumes defensively? I don't recall anywhere close to this many open looks in the Iowa game.
  24. Good timeout.
