  1. How do you hit a walk-off triple?
  2. Unless somebody's getting DLd this makes so little sense that I don't believe it.
  3. Cheering every fly ball makes us look way more ignorant. I hate Cub fans.
  4. These choices are all over the place. Sourdough burgers, bacon burgers, higher end chains, and mcdonald's.
  5. They have Fukudome about +13 in RF last year, and -13 in CF over about 15 games. That's *really* awful for 15 games. How would a +13 in RF translate to CF, on average? Not too good, I would assume, but you know how far that gets you. FTR, that's a per 150 game rate, not his rate over 15 games.
  6. Last night I was really hoping to see him in the game instead of Marmol after Cotts put the 2 guys on. Using Marmol in that spot is just going to cause problems down the line. I wanted to see Cotts get out of it on his own. At that point the Cubs had a big enough lead and with the wind blowing the way it was, just let him pitch his way out of it. IMO, Marmol should not have been used. As Len and Bob pointed out, the Cubs are starting a stretch of 20 straight games. Rest Marmol when you can. The Cubs were coming off 2 straight off days, and Marmol had only thrown twice in an 8 day stretch. I don't typically like using him in a 5-run lead situation, but he threw just 7 pitches. He should be fine for tonight, if necessary. But hopefully he only throws in one of the next 2 games. It worked out because Marmol got out of the inning with only 7 pitches. It could've turned into a 20 pitch inning if we were unlucky. It's not the worst Piniella's done to Marmol, but it was pretty unnecessary considering our upcoming schedule.
  7. Big 10/ACC Challenge matchups Penn State at Virginia Tuesday, Dec. 1 Maryland at Indiana Michigan State at North Carolina Northwestern at North Carolina State Virginia Tech at Iowa Wake Forest at Purdue Wednesday, Dec. 2 Boston College at Michigan Duke at Wisconsin Florida State at Ohio State Illinois at Clemson Minnesota at Miami
  8. Gooz is awesome, and if he stays healthy he'll be no worse than the 2nd best pitcher in the pen. The bullpen will be(and already is) fine.
  9. Wait, you named 20 guys, some of which are questionable, and based on that you claim Pierce isn't a top 30 player.
  10. Wouldn't we play winner of Orlando/Philly next? Whoever wins this series plays the winner of that next, but the Celtics(and the Bulls) best case is to be embarrassed in the Eastern Conference Finals(Unless Garnett is as tough as Pierce)
  11. Yeah, I'm starting to resign myself to a 7 game series, which is fine, at best we get embarrassed by Cleveland, so might as well have some fun on the way.
  12. This and, whatever that crap Perkins sprouted about Rose was, are the type of statements made by a team that knows it's in danger of losing the series. They're searching for something, anything to give them an edge. Perkins was right, Rose was shut down. And the Celtics won.
  13. never know these days.... Stop, just admit it went over your head.
  14. So you're telling me the crazy looking old man on the train was wrong, and there will be a game tonight? Glad to see people turning on Bradley already.
  15. Oh, and this is probably stating the obvious, but if Rondo isn't close to 100%, we're doomed.
  16. I was wondering that myself. His fielding deficiencies may be exaggerated at times on here, but I don't see him being all that good in the field. It makes me seriously doubt the defensive metrics all the more. I always thought he was about average defensively for a LF. It's not saying much, cause it's LF, but when compared to his peers, Murton's range and arm weren't so bad.
  17. "I had sex with Josh Hancock's wife!"
  18. Rondo could have. Tony Allen woulda done a better job too. The Celtics had one of their worst on the ball defenders on him the whole game. Gordon's performance just exposed Rivers more than anything else. A gimpy Rondo like you had in the second half? Well, he did hold Oscar Robertson, only with Jordan's ability to score to 10 points.

  20. It's gonna be 4 on 5 by game 6. Should be a close one.
  21. Atlanta. Who could forget the magic of historic Turner Field, where so many great memories have been forged through it's storied past.
  22. On the flipside, Boston was a Paul Pierce FT away from being up 2-0.
  23. We're gonna get murdered if it goes to OT. Rondo's got nothing left.
