Jose Escobar making his ACL debut tonight! I thought he was going to miss most of the year with an injury of some kind. Unless it’s simply more ACL box score shenanigans.

Mayo gives the Cubs Jacob Gonzalez in his mock this morning. Mentions Bradfield, Shaw, Waldrep (gross), and Colt Emerson as well.
Pitching is ugly for the ACL team, but Rojas/Sanchez/Paciolla/Lubo and co should be fun to follow. Wish these games were televised. I’ve gotten spoiled.
I will back up CubinNY, in that I wasn't overly impressed from my views of Aliendo behind the plate early on this year. Certainly nothing resembling the praise that BA and Callis have bestowed upon him.
I'm really shocked they let him go out for the 4th. Ended up throwing 73 pitches, which I believe is easily his season high.
4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 Ks. He was flat out filthy tonight.
Ethan Salas just made his debut for the Padres Low A squad as a 16 year old (turns 17 tomorrow), so he's skipped right over the ACL. He's gonna be a monster if he stays healthy.
Pretty easy to DFA Barnhart after the year; call up Amaya to catch with Gomes; and have Aliendo take the open 40 man spot and be in AAA working on everything.
I only caught Ferris in the 3rd inning, but he was outstanding. Struck out the side and used both an elevated heater and a buried breaking ball. Pulled from the game after 3 with only 43 pitches.
