  1. Yeah, he's Rule V eligible this offseason if he isn't added.
  2. Nice! His promotion makes that Iowa offense more interesting. We theoretically don't need to see 32 year old John Hicks start at DH anymore.
  3. Brennen back in the lineup for Iowa tonight.
  4. Schlaffer, much like many (most?) of the pitching prospects in the system, has big K numbers so far. Does anyone know if he's added a better breaking ball this offseason? I seem to recall him being a 92-94 guy with a good changeup last year in his brief 1st stint with MB.
  5. PCA stole home as well. I think that’s 7 steals already.
  6. Another multi hit game for PCA with a HBP thrown in to pad that sexy OBP. His double came with the bases loaded. No SBs today though. Slacker.
  7. PCA got on base 3 more times last night and swiped another base. It wouldn’t suck if he became Kenny Lofton.
  8. I thought someone said he was having visa issues, but I may be mistaken on that.
  9. PCA bomb. I believe this one actually went out. We finally have one of the good hitters doing something!
  10. Sorta. Counts, though. https://www.bleachernation.com/cubs/2022/04/19/pete-crow-armstrongs-first-pro-homer-was-a-weird-one-even-by-inside-the-park-standards/ Well damn lol PCA doubled. That's progress, too. I’d honestly count it as a triple. Dude has wheels and that was the deepest part of the park.
  11. Sigh. Nolan Gorman being a monster early in the season and Brennen Davis mostly falling on his face is not making it easy to talk to Cards fan associates.
  12. Kevin Made sighting! 2-2 with a BB before being pulled (hopefully just load management coming off injury). This system needed one dang bat starting out hot.
  13. AZPhil has a post about the EXST roster. Brayan Altuve has apparently been moved to the OF. https://www.thecubreporter.com/04142022/2022-cubs-extended-spring-training-roster
  14. This Royber Salinas facing MB is a damn monster.
  15. 5:1 GO/FO ratio too. And one hit was of the infield variety. That's a terrific first outing for him. Milb gameday strike zones are notoriously untrustworthy, but it looked like he was being squeezed a bit at the bottom of the zone. Hopefully someone was there than can chime in on it.
  16. Caissie finally off the schneid with an infield single. That had to have been a rough week of hitless games for the youngster.
  17. I was wondering this as well, so I checked on a bunch of other good hitting prospects around the league. Crazy small sample size of course, but the vast majority of them came out of the gates hitting much better than the Cubs' guys. K rates look to be pretty high across the board though.
  18. As originally expected. Wonder what the holdup was? Either way, here's hoping he can light some kind of spark with that offense. They've been terrible.
  19. Bats have been underwhelming so far. Pitching has been phenomenal.
  20. I have looked all over and I don't think anyone has any idea right now. He's on the active roster so if it's an injury, it's a minor one.
  21. No PCA again tonight. Hopefully it’s just a stomach bug or something and not an injury sustained in ST.
  22. Looks like Luke Little for MB.
  23. That Tennessee team is going to be really boring to watch on non-Jensen nights if Velazquez turns back into a pumpkin. I don't see one potential big league regular on that entire squad. Pitching in MB is boring as well, but at least they have a really fun lineup to follow every day. SB has it all. As Bertz said, I don't remember a rotation like this one where there is a legit interesting SP going every night.
  24. Hmm. Now that I think about it more, wasn't there a blurb somewhere that they are completely overhauling Nwogu's swing? Maybe they thought the new swing needed a bit more work before going to full season ball. It surely wasn't a production issue in A ball last year. He was really good the last 2.5 months or so there.
  25. No Nwogu? Tough to see the logic in him going back to MB. Unless they are jumping him to Tennessee?
