  1. Caissie still rolling. His post-April numbers (228 PAs) now sit at .313/.395/.493, 10.5% BB, 23.2% K, which is good for a 147 wRC+. This is almost solely as a 19 year old in High A ball.
  2. Now that’s what I’ve been waiting to see from Wicks. He was missing bats all over the place tonight. Probably done after 5 and 80ish pitches. 10Ks
  3. Someone get me a scouting report on 17 year old Jose Escobar. He’s been playing SS and hit his 2nd bomb today to go along with 4 triples in only 60 ABs.
  4. You Crow, We Crow. Amirite? I’ll show myself out.
  5. What the actual hell? Player touches an ump he's immediately tossed. But the umps can push a player who is "gasp" watching their homer?
  6. Sanchez added another single to go 3 for 3 for the day. Fellow bonus baby Jefferson Rojas went 3 for 4 (all singles) with a HBP and a SB for the other DSL squad. Cristian's little brother went 0 for 3 with 2 Ks in his debut.
  7. https://www.thecubreporter.com/06052022/2022-acl-cubs-opening-day-roster Opening day ACL roster, per AZPhil.
  8. Per AZPhil, Frank Hernandez has hit .309/.361/.382 in EXST games, with only 6 Ks in 61 PAs. Already 20 though and only played the corners.
  9. It definitely was time. Hopefully Alcantara gets some CF time now.
  10. Don't they have the best record in all of minor league baseball as well? Always fun when a talent-laden team like MB also wins all the time. Makes me reminisce about 2016......
  11. Kilian with his first clunker of the year. Caissie goes 0-4 with 3 Ks. Pinango goes 1-4 with a 2B, but K'd twice. Wicks was fine, but pretty meh. None of the mentionable bats in AAA have done anything through 7. Gonna need the reliable MB crew to show up to keep my prospect happiness high.
  12. Triantos since 4/20 (123 PA) is at 365/430/490 with a 14% K and 10% BB Season BA is over .300 now as well. This kid is going to be DJ LeMahieu with a bit more power, isn't he?
  13. Today's movement: Carraway to the Dev. List. Bailey Horn to Tenn Sheldon Reed to SB Angel Gonzalez to MB (up to 98 with a potential plus curve and plus change in EXST, per AZPhil)
  14. Leeper just went on the IL. It's the 7-day variety, but I never rule out a serious thing with a guy who has already had 2 TJS procedures in his life. And thanks for "Myrtle Beach Bunch". I now have the theme song of the Brady Bunch stuck in my head.
  15. Caissie had a great week. May line is up to .339/.403/.571 (174 wRC+) in 63 PAs. 6.5% BB and 24.2% K. Definitely seems to be adjusting well. The fact that he's still only at a 93 wRC+ for the season shows just how miserable his April was.
  16. Yeah, May has been very good to a bunch of the youngsters that struggled in April: Triantos (57 PAs) - .300/.386/.460, 10.5% BB, 10.5% K, 140 wRC+ Preciado (42 PAs) - .342/.381/.474, 4.8%BB, 26.2%K, 138 wRC+ Caissie (42 PAs) - .324/.405/.459, 7.1% BB, 23.8%K, 149 wRC+ Absurdly small sample sizes that could change with one golden sombrero tonight, but you'd rather they be doing this than the alternative.
  17. Hopefully that means we no longer have to be subjected to Vargas at the big league level. Pretty excited to see Hughes up, though. Let's start the AAA reliever auditions early.
  18. The strawman arguments are getting tiresome. Does anyone know if we have an ignore function on this board?
  19. Marquez and Moreno are alive! Tough break for Howard. He was finally hitting not terrible and then he gets hurt. Here's hoping it isn't as bad as it looked.
  20. Yeah, Bain and Clarke make the most sense right now to fill the Tennessee rotation spots vacated by Jensen and Thompson. I still want to see Caissie and PCA swapped.
  21. Yeah, that's nice to see after a miserable start. Even if you take out just the first 3 games, his numbers jump up considerably (.263/.377/.456, 134 wRC+, 13% BB, 26.1% K). Hopefully it's a trend that continues.
  22. Good lord that was a filthy slider. Awesome for the team, but man, I may have to watch Reindl a bit closer.
  23. The sun 90s in that last inning certainly is worrisome, but is the typically low 90s and can pop some velo here and there but is more a command/location guy? Part of what made Kilian so interesting was that last year he discovered some velocity and was sitting mid-90's and hitting 98 with the 4 seamer. It's possible he has been throwing almost exclusively 2-seamers and cutters at the lower velocity, but the video I've seen has plenty of 4 seamers at a lower velocity. Some guys just take a little while to get ramped all the way up. Here's hoping Kilian is one of them.
  24. If Kilian is still throwing low 90's in June, I will be alarmed.
