  1. Really happy that the Iowa game is early so I can catch both Brown and Horton today.
  2. PCA Ben Brown Cade Horton Kevin Alcantara Matt Mervis Jordan Wicks Brennen Davis Moises Ballesteros Alexander Canario Owen Caissie Jackson Ferris Miguel Amaya Cristian Hernandez Kevin Made Kohl Franklin Pablo Aliendo James Triantos Porter Hodge DJ Herz Jefferson Rojas Feels like I'm forgetting someone obvious.
  3. SB definitely can use the help in that lineup after McGeary got promoted. We could realistically see Ferris/Horton/Hodge/Brown tomorrow. Does anyone know if the minor league games get archived on mlb.tv?
  4. $2.9 million. At the time it was the biggest non-Cuban bonus in team history. Tough to tell if it was covid-related or not, but that class has been a huge disappointment league-wide.
  5. Little with his AA debut to follow up Wicks. 6 Ks in 2 hitless innings. Did walk 2 though. Mostly 95-96 with the fastball.
  6. I broke my Wicks jinx! He was really good today. 5 no-hit innings with 4K/1BB. Tons of really weak contact. Bad call in the 1st cost him about 12 pitches (and an unearned run). Otherwise he probably goes 6.
  7. Ferris strikes out the side in his first pro inning. Also walked a guy on 4 straight pitches.
  8. Don’t hate it. But it would be weird for this FO to take a guy that did so poorly in the Cape and with Team USA.
  9. Still sitting 95-96 in the 5th. Not even 70 pitches after 5.
  10. Guess I will have to wait and watch him tomorrow with the big league team.
  11. The Brown AAA debut is reason enough to tune in tonight, but the hitters will be facing Gavin Williams. I want to see how Mervis does against that terrific fastball.
  12. Horton finally gave up a run.
  13. I completely forgot about Herz.
  14. The covid year really messed up my perception. Normally a 23 year old mashing at High A, even the year immediately after being drafted, was easily ignored. But now? There are plenty of pitchers his age that he faced in High A. It's not like he was beating up on 20 year olds. A weird time for us prospect nuts. I'm surprised that he wasn't moved up to take Brown's spot, with Horton taking his spot at SB.
  15. McGeary just hit his 1st AA bomb off former 1st round pick Sam Bachman.
  16. Thankfully you're in a safe space now. In today's Fun With Arbitrary Endpoints: Brennen Davis since Iowa had that week off due to weather (11 games, 46 PA): .316/.435/.447, 8.7% BB, 6.5%K, 5-5 SBs, 137 wRC+, .324 BABIP
  17. Got out of a bases loaded jam with no runs allowed, but he was all over the place.
  18. Franklin for some reason was brought back into the game after a rain delay. It’s been ugly since then.
  19. Vikes need help essentially everywhere on D. So they take another WR. Don’t love that pick.
  20. Lions. My goodness. Campbell would be a great pick 20 years ago. He’s not a good fit for todays game.
  21. This pleases me.
  22. That pick makes no sense to me. Did Swift die this offseason? Did Montgomery blow his knee while signing his contract?
  23. Had a 12 pitch AB his first time up as well. Struck out looking but fouled off a bunch of pitches.
  24. Yeah, I would be pretty disappointed if they traded anything for Dalvin. He's been very open about his desire to play in Miami, so just wait for Minny to cut him. I like him as a player, but not at his current price tag.
  25. Crater for Caleb. He's a far superior talent. Don't settle for Stroud.
