  1. https://twitter.com/Pelicanbaseball/status/1665114591003652096?s=20 Ballesteros in CF has to be a typo, right?
  2. I will back up CubinNY, in that I wasn't overly impressed from my views of Aliendo behind the plate early on this year. Certainly nothing resembling the praise that BA and Callis have bestowed upon him.
  3. I'm really shocked they let him go out for the 4th. Ended up throwing 73 pitches, which I believe is easily his season high. 4 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 Ks. He was flat out filthy tonight.
  4. Ethan Salas just made his debut for the Padres Low A squad as a 16 year old (turns 17 tomorrow), so he's skipped right over the ACL. He's gonna be a monster if he stays healthy.
  5. Don’t love prep RHPs in the 1st, but can’t argue the ceiling isn’t there. Could be worse.
  6. Pretty easy to DFA Barnhart after the year; call up Amaya to catch with Gomes; and have Aliendo take the open 40 man spot and be in AAA working on everything.
  7. I only caught Ferris in the 3rd inning, but he was outstanding. Struck out the side and used both an elevated heater and a buried breaking ball. Pulled from the game after 3 with only 43 pitches.
  8. Give me the toolsy guy in round 1. With the 2nd pick not being until 68, the risk is real that the guys with legit upside may be gone.
  9. Caissie now goes oppo for his 2nd bomb.
  10. Did we ever hear what Made is dealing with?
  11. I need to see Caissie’s exit velo on that one. That ball got out in a hurry.
  12. PCA out of the lineup again. It would be great to have one of our legit hitting prospects be able to play every day.
  13. Dare I say, Franklin is learning how to pitch. 10-2 GB/FB ratio. Tons of weak contact. Only 1 walk in 5.2 efficient innings (76 pitches). Downside was only 3 Ks but that will come with his stuff. He’s getting me quite hopeful again.
  14. That was a great start by Horton. 8 Ks and 0 BBs is lovely. But I was really impressed with how efficient he was. 54 pitches through 4 innings. We know he will be babied this year, since he hasn't pitched much, but it's nice to see that he was on pace for 7-8 innings if they let him go. A couple of the hits Horton gave up were nothing great, either. The ground-rule double was an opposite field end-of-the-bat flare that took a hop straight left into the stands. Another was a groundball single that a good 2B would have gotten to.
  15. I didn't hear anything on the broadcasts, but I admittedly have been switching them off once the SP gets taken out of the game lately.
  16. Triantos bomb #2. That’s fun.
  17. Brown likely done after 4. Terrific in 3 of those innings. Lost control in the 2nd, walked a couple, and gave up a couple singles. 4IP, 2H, 1ER, 2BBs, 6Ks
  18. PCA out for 4th consecutive game.
  19. Wicks has his changeup cooking tonight. Multiple swinging Ks on it through 3 innings. Only blemish is a bunt single and has 5 Ks total so far.
  20. Ferris only goes 2 innings. I’m assuming it’s due to needing 45 pitches, rather than an injury. No PCA again tonight for Tennessee. Has he played this week?
  21. I'm really sick of seeing Lowder mocked to the Cubs. So that means it will probably happen.
  22. Just swap in Horton or Wicks for Wesneski and call it good.
