  1. That paint is structural now
  2. that's exactly right. looks like it would fit right in at lutheran general. maybe some ivy on the exterior would help. a redder brick would help too. My facade/enclosure company provided some material to the Lutheran General Hospital. Very sexy project from several years ago... http://www.powerconstruction.net/sites/default/files/project/primary/Power-Construction---Lutheran-General-Womens-and-Childrens-Hospital.jpg

Sign Heyward Trade Baez+ for Ross Sign Cuban Sierra Post for Maeda Rizzo/Castro/Russell/Bryant/LaStella/Another IF Schwarber/Heyward/Soler/Coghlan/RH CF Backup Type Montero/Ross Arrieta/Lester/Ross/Hendricks/Hammel/Sierra/Maeda/Rich Hill Type I'd much rather sign Shark and keep Javy. I'd agree, but I was trying to illustrate that there are plenty of ways to fill out the pitching staff without signing big contracts after Heyward.

  5. I should have added that it was rules an interception on the field, and part of Periera's comments was about how in a case like this the ruling should never be overturned. Makes it all the better... did anyone mention that the vikings receiver, on that last big pass play against us, was running for about 20 yards out of bounds before coming back in and making the catch? don't know if that can be reviewed or not. I don't remember that, but it could have happened. All the review systems/processes need to be upgraded. I can review a play just in between replays and see enough to rule one way or the other. Making some things reviewable and others not is dumb, too. It all takes way too long when someone just watching the game can see it. Another thing they could do is just mandate the the TV networks have a camera set up to look down each sideline and along/above the goal lines. Get the right angle on the plays and the number of blown calls will go down inherently. Obviously you're never going to have every angle, but that would do a lot of good. Which game was it that the two point conversion by Mariani got called short? That was a BS call because the angle was from out of the end zone.

  7. are you talking about the golden tate play? I don't remember, although I suspect it was Detroit It was detroit If that's the case, it was called a TD on the field, reviewed and then overturned. In the Detroit game, Tate had momentary possession, then the ball was knocked out of his hands and caught by Bears LB Jon Anderson. It was reviewed and overturned, to the stunned disbelief of Mike Periera, the Fox expert/former head of NFL Officiating.

  9. why doesn't anyone call this the hook and lateral?
  10. Not picking on one sentence, but Marmol had elite control? It would be great to get a closer type reliever for Coghlan, who is a bit of a luxury to have as an extra outfielder. Hard to count on Soler playing 150 games given his history so far, and Coghlan is not too expensive to keep.
  11. I'm sick imagining that team
  12. Austin Jackson? Coghlan and Jackson are just about exact opposites
  13. Scheduled days are 17th, 18th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 24th and 25th. Lester in Game 5 would be regular rest. Arrieta goes in Game 2, he gets an extra day now and then after he pitches Saturday (if it goes to 6). Honestly, I'd rather Arrieta go Game 1 or save him to Game 3. If he goes game 1, he can go 5, and then be a real option for major innings in Game 7. If he goes 2, he goes Game 6 and is not available for 7. If he goes in Game 3, he still gets the same 2 starts as if he goes Game 2, but he can either be saved for 7 (if the Cubs are up 3-2) or he can still go in Game 6 on short rest if down 3-2. Plus, Game 3 is the most pivotal game IMO. But this post is going to look very stupid and pointless when the Cubs win in 4. I was marking up my wall calendar in the office with the potential scenarios. My thinking is that they have Lester go game 1 partly to keep him from too much rest, but also so that he could pitch game 4 & 7 on 3 days' rest if needed. I don't think they want Jake doing that given his increase in innings from last year. G1 Lester G2 Arrieta G3 Hendricks G4 Lester G5 Hammel? (or Jake on 3 days' rest) G6 Arrieta G7 Lester Or you just line them up, but I don't know about that G1 Lester G2 Arrieta G3 Hendricks G4 Hammel G5 Lester G6 Arrieta G7 Hendricks
  14. Took me until now to finish getting through this thread. Didn't get in at all during the game because I had to tape it and watch on delay (never got to real time). Let us continue to celebrate. Bring on the Mets/Dodgers Someone posted a GRB article and I noticed their game thread and found a couple nuggets (formatting is kinda effed up): 1 - Rizzo's go ahead homer 1 more strike, Kevin. 15. I commented to someone that yesterday's game seemed like the first time Soler had a fair strike zone in a long time. Probably hyperbolic, but yesterday's zone was pretty good (or at least less poor) than what I've become used to. Anyway, I almost had myself convinced that Soler never quit having an advanced eye and good contact skills when he doesn't get a shitty strike zone.
  16. Arrieta Bryant Russell Schwarber ----- Soler Castro
  17. I have no idea why they'd have Schwarber in RF and Coghlan in LF. Coghlan has played some RF already this year (TT may disagree with my choice of word "play"). I wonder if Al got those two mixed up. Schwarber was in RF yesterday, too. I didn't watch the whole game, but I saw him handle a couple chances cleanly. Neither belong there and I don't think you'll see either there in the playoffs.
  18. My approach: DVR the game. Delete if a loss. Watch in fast forward for delicious (h/t to Sofa) replays if a win.
  19. If you need someone to but a ticket from you count me in.
  20. It's not really Aramis is it? It's Jacque? They should have put his little cockfighting roosters with him, then it would be eaiser to tell. Is there a worse bobble head out there?
  21. It's not really Aramis is it? It's Jacque?
  22. Many bobble heads are way off, but that would have been one of the worst
  23. Likewise. Plus I still have this! http://i.imgur.com/decvarN.jpg?1 Where the hell did you find a life size inflatable...wait - that's supposed to be ARam?
  24. The radio said Bryant won Rookie of the Month (Arrieta got Pitcher of the Month).
  25. Has anyone done Cy DeSclafani yet?
