  2. Assuming Fowler and Chapman go FA, players under contract are: C: Contreras, Montero (Schwarber if we're lucky) IF: Rizzo, Zobrist, Russell, Bryant, Baez, LaStella/______ OF: Schwarber, Almora, Heyward, Soler, Szczur SP: Arrieta, Lester, Hendricks, Lackey, Hammel (assume the option is picked up) RP: Rondon, Strop, Edwards, Grimm, Montgomery, ______, ______ Zobrist Bryant Rizzo Contreras Schwarber Russell Heyward Almora I could also easily see Schwarber in front of Bryant and letting Contreras slide down to the fifth spot. Almora hitting 8 with that top 6 (7 if Heyward comes back to life) is palatable. Still pretty stacked.
  3. You and I are different people. I instantly thought of a miracle comeback. Same
  4. Heyman was on with Mully and Hanley the other day (or some show on the score) and he said it's one of these three.
  5. Especially on a Friday night when I watched the games while pre-gaming and by the time it was over I had a solid buzz and it was time to go out. Now I give it a 50% chance I'm awake when the game ends. And to think I used to make fun of old people for not being able to stay up until midnight I have a 50% chance to be awake by the third inning
  6. I'm close to the SBCubs. Work just a couple minutes from there. PM/email me if you have ideas for outreach to the club.

    NFL Offseason

You get a heart for that
  8. The guy is going to be a 35-year-old catcher when he's FA next; it's not like he'll really be in a "contract year"-type situation so much as, "damn, I hope I can get a job as a backup, IF I can even keep my job playing baseball." I doubt he'll have much of a problem making $14 million as a backup while clearly on the back end of his career. He really seems like a big time "team first" type of dude that everyone loves as well. It'll be Willson and Miggy as the catchers next year. Then maybe they can put Schwarber as the 3rd guy if he is fully healed. After Montero's contract is up, they'll replace him with another Ross type guy. Is it possible that Caratini comes up as a backup/part time player with Contreras and Schwarber catchine one day out of 5? The Cubs would be the envy of the league at C
  9. I've got Tennessee, too now would be a good time to make that pick Titans select Shaq Lawson
  10. I've got Tennessee, too
  11. OK, let's replace "will never happen" with "would take a miracle" I thought for a second last year that Leonard Williams might go past the Jets. Then, sadness. (Still "Go Kevin White")
  12. This would be a dream scenario for the Bears and it will never happen.
  13. Any team would be dumb not to take Jack #9
  14. I'll take the Titans if we want to dodge another poll Too many picks to not want to be them
  15. Seahawks take Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
  16. 1 Contreras 2 Torres 3 Candelario (3B) 4 Cease 5 Happ (2B) 6 Jimenez 7 Almora 8 DeLaCruz 9 McKinney 10 Martinez
  17. Zagunis Caratini
  18. The toughest thing is that Lackey just has the most punchable face that I've ever seen. He could be pitching a perfect game in the World Series and while I might love him at that point, I'd still really want to punch him in the face. It's almost like an involuntary reflex. Combine that with his questionable personal life and he's got a bit of an uphill battle to climb although I'm obligated to like him as a Cub. You have anger issues and should seek treatment. I think he looks lovely. When Lackey was snarling during the playoff game last year I hated him and wanted to throw him down a flight of stairs. I will accept him on our team and accept that my fandom made me hate the opponent, even if he is/was an ass off the field. I've been a major ass plenty, so I can sympathize. (Never divorced my cancer stricken wife, though)
  19. Seconded. You're the man Raisin, et al
  20. Colts take Taylor Decker, T, Ohio State
  21. William Jackson III
  22. Are we allowed to make trades? The Seahawks may want to trade back from their first rounder. Also Kam Chancellor may be available for a second round pick.
  23. I'm not exactly sure what's required of me, but I'll take the Colts and Seahawks
  24. This morning Biggs said he thinks Leno will be the LT and that DE or CB is the most likely pick in rd 1. I don't know how McShay thinks Long is going to be anything but RG after all the reports that came after the Massie signing.
