My dad is a Yankees fan. I am now totally on board with the Yankees this year. That is the first time I have ever said anything along those lines. Go Yankees! Go Woody!
I would put everyone on waivers except Colvin, Castro, Soto, DeWitt, Cashner, and Diamond. I thought most teams pretty much placed just about every player on waivers each year, just to test the waters so to speak?
Yep. Color me pretty jazzed to see the kids starting to come on up to the top. I think Cashner will be starting next season, and Diamond needs a shot. Not every young arm brought up is going to be an ace.
This is my favorite line from that link. "in 3 years blake dewitt will be hitting 300 for the cubs lilly will be pitching for the yankees, theriot hitting on high school girls at a mall in encino trying to lure them into his camaro, and the starting 2b for the don mattingly-managed la dodgers – juan uribe"
wOOt!!! Yep, I am going to agree with you. This is what I have been looking forward to all year long. Pretty underwhelming, and probably the only pieces we are shipping off today.
So you are saying you are currently underwhelmed based on the fact you have no idea who the Cubs are getting back in the trade? Exactly. It is the post trade fear which is creeping up on me as well.
12:34pm: Blake DeWitt and at least one other player would go to the Cubs as part of a Lilly-Theriot deal if the sides can reach an agreement, tweets Rosenthal. A two for two??? Please God, let that other player be a present.
Surely he is hitting above sustainable currently, but how much is the fall off? His minor league track record is pretty solid as far as batting average. As long as he doesn't go 0 for 60, they should be okay.
Bye-Bye Theriot :yahoo: It would be pretty cool if we sent Marlon Byrd to the Giants. I know it isn't likely, but I think we could net a decent piece from their farm for him.
