    Where are you seeing that Berkman is going to the Angles? I havent seen it anywhere, just that Houston is entertaining offers for Berkman. It does make a lot of sense though. Too bad Derrek had to be a wanker.

    Well, since the Blue Jays wanted Jesus Montero from NY and Casey Kelly for BOS for Downs, I am guessing we can get at least 3 top prospects for Lilly!!!

    So far it seems like a pretty crappy return since the Astros are paying a significant portion of monies.

    Because they don't need to eat any of Lilly's contract to trade him, but they do Fukudome. Right. That is pretty obvious. All I am saying is the Cubs will maximize their haul if they sent money along with Lilly. Maybe they're trying to save money or something. And yet they are comfortable eating a large portion of an outfielder's contract just because we have a guy named Tyler Colvin. These are the things that make me sad about Cubs management.

    If the Cubs are willing to eat part of Kosuke's contract, I see no reason why they can't eat the rest of Lilly's contract as well.

    The Dodgers are more than likely not going to absorb payroll. In theory, they would be the most likely to give a better package. This is all simply conjecture though. I don't think the Cubs are going to be getting anything of any significance for Lilly. I would love to be wrong though.

    An interesting possibility may be Lance Berkman. He has injury history, and will probably be bought out by Houston. He may be a cheap alternative. Then again, everything depends on how he finishes the season.

    I think it would be a terrible waste to force a 1B prospect into the trade simply because he might be able to play right away. I didn't say anything about forcing, only trying.
