    Doesn't this move create a significant logjam at first? Or maybe Alonso will be their starting LF? Didn't see this coming, but the Reds just became an easy favorite for the division.

    It seemed he was having quite the career year this season, and then he flamed out with shoulder issues. If this isn't a cheap deal, count me in the annoyed and meh camp.

    Trumbo is really not that good. Especially with his perceived value being so high right now. A big big big no thank you on that guy. Kendrys is a huge question mark. One has to think that the Pujols acquisition was made because of a loss of faith in his ability to field properly again. Apparently, that ankle injury is still very cloudy. If we are going to go risky at first, why not Butler? Hell, why not Alonso? These guys blow away Trumbo and Morales IMO.

    So, what? We sign Fielder to a six year/132 on the 20th? I think that sounds about right.

    Yes, yes, and yes. I will do a happy naked dance in my living room if we can get him on a 5 year deal.

    It's early. No pretending. Saying we are waiting too long, or what have you, is akin to freaking out about losing the first 4 or 5 games of the season. There is still a long way to go, and many more players and situations to unfold.

    Out of curiosity, what's the story on Casey Blake? Is he hurt or something? Because a casual glance at his fangraphs page makes him look pretty appealing. He's 38 and he's hurt. Pass. Wouldn't he command more money too? So far Kyle, I am guessing your more valued third base options are vets like Aramis and Blake. Both of which cost the team more than the one they are apparently rolling with. With free agent acquisition yet to be made, I don't understand why you are so against this route. I am not trying to sway you, but a few weeks ago I would have thought you would be one of the posters at least in the "Lets see what else we get" category.
