  1. If San Diego wanted Wood - wouldn't they have already gotten him a few weeks ago when they were fleecing Cincinnati in the Latos trade?
  2. Toronto's package of prospects intrigue me the most. I love Garza, but really can't wait to trade him to stock up the farm system.
  3. How good is Latos? Jesus that is a haul!! I have not seen Latos pitch much, but have seen the numbers are pretty incredible. How much of that is the ball park that he pitched in though? I really want to trade Garza after seeing this. And I love Garza.
  4. Not that it's an important question, but does anyone think the Cubs would have signed Jacquez if they knew this would be the last year they could go crazy with draft spending? And how much different would this draft had of been for all the teams? I think we really lucked out.
  5. Arizona is loaded. Absolutely loaded with SP. I think this was a great trade for them. I look at it a bit differently. Parker has a great arm, but I question his durability over a full MLB season. Cahill may not have the electric arm that Parker has, but at worst case he's a very good #3 starter and gives them great stability behind the two studs at the top. Kennedy Hudson Cahill And they still have Skaggs & Bauer on the way.
  6. Kinda a meh trade for me. I don't feel strongly about either Colvin or DJ L, but feel the same way about Stewart. He's 26. More than likely he is what he is at this point.
  7. I would do the Detroit deal for Porcello and Turner without thinking twice.
  8. 6th overall ain't bad. Hopefully a bonus baby falls.
  9. I just realized he was 21-4. I knew he was having a great year and W/L's don't mean much, but damn. Kennedy Hudson Bauer Parker Skaggs That is pretty crazy.
  10. Forgot about the Phillies.
  11. Two interesting notes from this Arizona/Dodgers game I am watching: Dodgers relief pitcher Kenley Jansen - 96 Ks in 53 IP. He was a catcher two years ago ala Marmol. Pretty sick numbers. That K/9 has to be a record, no? Jarrod Parker made his mlb debut: 5.2 IP / 4 hits / 0 R / 1 K / 1 BB. 73 pitches / 50 strikes. Pretty impressive. Arizona has quite the young rotation going forward as well with Kennedy, Hudson, and now Parker.
  12. Is there any chance that this is not the best rotation in the league next season? I mean Niemann at worst is a good #3. Shields is a Cy-Young candidate and I think going forward he could be their #4. Is that even outrageous to say? Price, Hellboy, Moore in front of him? It wouldn't really surprise me to see Tampa unload Shields this off-season and sell very high on him to help the offense/pen. I wonder what he could net them. Price Hellboy Moore Niemann Davis Is a more than fine rotation.
  13. I know everyone wants an arm, but I'd love Buxton.
  14. Worried about starting the clock on a guy, who at best is a No. 5 starter? I don't know what else to say.
  15. Rhee has really turned it up in the 2nd half. Very good to see.
  16. Are the AZL Cubs done for the season? =( They were a great boxscore to look at with Baez, Vogelbach, etc.
  17. Cashner strikes out the side. 16 pitches.
  18. Cashner strikes out the side. 16 pitches.
  19. I like the reports on Baez. He's going to end up at 3B more than likely -- most realized that when he was drafted anyway. But, it made sense to try him at shortstop first. I don't really see what people are so outraged about. The bat is for real and that is all that matters. I like how he is cocky and edgy. We need more of that. Brett Jackson is the same way.
  20. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?content_id=18494549 Video of Jackson's home run.
  21. Jackson just led off the game with a HR
  22. Icehouse is the trailer park favorite.
  23. Vogelbach 3/5.. 2B, HR, 3 RBI, added a BB as well. Hitting .357 in very limited ABs so far.
  24. Save it for the farm / international signings. Even $10M is a complete waste just to negotiate with someone who is such a gamble. Think about what Wilken could have done with even an extra $4M in this past draft. That's basically two other overslot players like Maples.
