  1. If that's true, there's no way Bonds is gonna make it to 50 years old, based on how the pro wrestlers are dropping like flies.
  2. The interesting thing is, they probably don't want a Prior or Zambrano...too expensive. So we'd basically just have to overwhelm them with prospects to do it, and I think it's worth it. Not that it will happen, but still.
  3. I'm getting pretty excited about this...I didn't think I would.
  4. Like I said in the other thread, he was the hitter (along with Gwynn and Mark Grace) that I tried to emulate while I played Little League.
  5. Just because someone dies, it doesn't mean their negative qualities go away, and it doesn't mean that everyone should just glance over them. I never bought into the idea that if someone dies, you should only think of them as a great person.
  6. I guess when OJ dies, let's all forget that he was found NOT GUILTY of murdering his wife, and only discuss his amazing football career.
  7. Florida, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, who else?
  8. ugh, i don't want the same opinion as colin cowherd. :(
  9. adam's isolated power is ridiculous so far this spring! 182/182/545 no walks though :(
  10. YEAH! A MAJOR PUBLICATION SAID THAT THERE'S A POSSIBILITY DUNN GETS TRADED, HOW DARE YOU SPECULATE
  11. Well, if you played in 154 games last season (the majority of those as a starter) and were consisently praised in the media for saving your team last season, you'd probably think of yourself as a starter too.
  12. You don't know much about Mantle. Whatever the case is, people can remember him however they want. I'll personally remember Kirby as a very troubled human being who deceived everyone into thinking that he was a hell of a guy. A lot more will remember him as a great baseball player, and that's fine too.
  13. No way Dopirak is even close to being ML ready. I'd replace him with Grissom to platoon with Jones, other than that, the bench is about as good as it can be with what Hendry provided.
  14. So we're comparing alcoholism to sexual assault and battery?
  15. Well, when OJ Simpson dies, no one's going to just focus on him being one of the top 5 running backs of all time.
  16. i also don't think the writers knows that adam dunn is moving to first base
  17. If someone can give me a link to free agents in 2006 and 2007 maybe I can try to come up with something
  18. Somewhat? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v198/rocketsaucetd/428d7451.jpg
  19. What did your ML numbers end up looking like? i'm more of a defensive specialist, so i've never seen a major league at bat
  20. Him and Tony Gwynn were the type of hitters I tried to be like in Little League, and when I was a young idiot I thought my major league numbers would look a lot like those 2.
  21. Why discuss a possible trade if it admittedly CAN'T happen? I don't remember seeing any Dunn trade proposal that anyone said must happen, anyways.
  22. No you're not. But it's very popular to bash BBT personalities and assume all ex-player analysts/color commentators know less about the game then they do. Kruk is a neanderthal. Most ex-players know what they are talking about. Kruk was signed for that "average joe" appeal, not for baseball knowledge. I agree with you that his value on BBT is as an entertainer more than an expert. They have other guys to satisfy that role. But it doesn't mean Kruk is a complete baseball idiot. He's not a COMPLETE baseball idiot. If you look at the stats, he was actually a very smart hitter. Other than that though, he's a baseball idiot.
