  1. yeah, wasn't there a vote recently on who was the greatest latino shorstop? the choices were aparicio, concepcion, and vizquel. i'll take other, please. just goes to show how little the "chaw-spittin'" baseball insiders know about how the game actually works. poor miguel tejada
  2. fans don't vote for pitchers
  3. 850 with a 47 espn
  4. oliver perez, zach duke...let's hope ian snell doesn't follow the recent pirate tradition of having an amazing first season followed by being an embarassment to baseball
  5. so, did another game get bumped up for tonight's espn slot or are they just showing some other programming?
  6. Is steroids by a hitter at all countered by the fact that a lot of pitchers were also on the juice?
  7. I never cared about the leaving early thing. The corked bat was ridiculous, but he was probably only hurting himself.
  8. he hit a homer tonight!
  9. i hope sammy gets 600 this year, and bonds takes over aaron this year, and they hold a press conference together and totally sing each other's praises and embrace.
  10. Awesome!!! Sosa, by the way, has the MLB record for hitting a homerun in the most stadiums.
  11. Bruce didn't write that Prior was done with the Cubs. He just said he could be, depending on the results of the surgery.
  12. the cubs are 4th in the nl in ba w/ risp.
  13. delgado busted out of his homerun slump. now it's lee's turn, dammit.
  14. 95% of all teams in the history of baseball have had a 19 game stretch where they looked bad, couldn't do things right, lost close games, couldn't execute, etc. There's a good chance the Cubs will suck this year, but to write the season off after 19 games is ridiculous. The 2003 Cubs had a stretch from 6/25-7/18 where they went 6-14. They came back in a division that was a joke, with an offense that wasn't that great. People need to settle down.
  15. Houston Astros - an actual major league baseball franchise Chicago Cubs - a sideshow that belongs under a big top tent we've won more world series than the astros
  16. I remember the same thing was brought up in 2006 as well. We're not the Astros, and we're definitely not the same team. What they did is rare and I don't expect the Cubs to follow suit. I hate seeing the 2005 Astros argument. THE POINT IS THAT IT'S NOT EVEN MAY YET
  17. et tu, Rocket? i'll try the optimistic approach this season
  18. 2005 astros record on june 7th, 2005: 21-35
  19. so statistically so far you're better off walking arod. (unless it's a real clutch situation)
