    jake renshaw looked really good tonight. i'm not sure how reliable the scoreboard radar gun is, because no one tonight topped 88 mph. but his pitches looked nasty, and he's got a really weird delivery. i'll put up some vids of it and other vids from the game in a second. ryno is either a really bad 3rd base coach or a really good one judging from today's game. 2 runs scored today for the chiefs where ryno waved the runner in, the ball beat them to the plate by a significant margin, but the catcher somehow goofed the play and they scored. it happened twice, so maybe ryno knows something i don't, but the throw beat them each time.

    if pat, ron, len, bob, wayne messmer or bill murray can't/won't do it, then play a recording of harry. i'm willing to allow celebrities to do it on the condition that len and bob don't talk to them during the bottom of the 7th, unless they are cubs fans and willing to talk about the game only. but that won't happen, so the above mentioned are the only ones allowed to do it.

    on tuesday i'm going to see the chiefs play in dayton. who are some players to keep an eye on? glancing at the stats so far, nothing really stands out, except for rafael dolis. i'll bring my digital camera and maybe take some video if anyone has any requests for players they want to see. also, who on the chiefs made the cubs 100 best prospects list, if anyone?

    Very good minor league numbers. .361/.405/.570. I'm not a huge fan of batting average, but a .361 career average in the minors is ridiculous.

    I don't think the talent is any more watered down than it was in the "golden years" of baseball. Look at baseball-reference.com, the percentage of crappy players in the 50's-70's was probably greater than the percentage of crappy players today.

    yeah, wasn't there a vote recently on who was the greatest latino shorstop? the choices were aparicio, concepcion, and vizquel. i'll take other, please. just goes to show how little the "chaw-spittin'" baseball insiders know about how the game actually works. poor miguel tejada i think alex rodriguez would have a little to say about this but will history remember him as a SS? he has no latino spark and passion, he has american laziness and selfishness. he doesn't count.
