  1. i believe eyre has a limited no trade clause.
  2. why should the dbacks' luck end now? dbacks for the sweep.
  3. no
  4. when are we going to learn to not spend big money on middle relief? not to mention injury-prone middle relief. i love kerry wood, but the money could be spent better elsewhere.
  5. i don't want the cubs to overpay for middle relief, like they always do.
  6. hahahaha http://youtube.com/watch?v=jDYQnXYvj1s
  7. He only came through when it didn't matter, and the team was going to lose anyways. :^o Jeter got on one time TOTAL until the last game. Nobody's gonna say jack about him, and people are going to ride A-Rod for eternity. Because they are stupid. Imagine if A-Rod was the one who grounded into that heart breaking double play.
  8. His well thought out reply...I love this argument, BTW, because it requires no factual support at all when it's used. At least, he replied. I'll give him that much. Haha, he must be copying and pasting that response to everyone. I got the same exact response.
  9. cubs this year: .271/.333/.422 cubs 2006: 268/.319/.422 nearly identical to last year but with an improvement in patience. i don't think perry has hurt the cubs, but he hasn't made them an incredible offensive force, which no hitting coach could do.
  10. exactly. why would ramirez (.287/.363/.594 in sep.) lee (.365/.431/.654) and soriano (.320/.354/.754) bust their asses in september to ensure they'd make the playoffs only to not try once they make it? people sometimes don't think.
  11. barry rozner is a moron.
  12. GEOVANY SOTO is offended. Soto did some good things, and he is clearly our catcher next year, but he batted .167 for the series with one hit. I know that hit was a home run, and he did look like our tallest midget, but let's not make his series out to be better than it was.... Arent we past the days using batting average as the know all be all stat? His OBP for the series was near .400, so lets not make batting average more meaningful than it really is... Ok, pal...how about these stats. He only had 2 RBI! I'm sure his CERA sucked, too! How many games did we win when he started? Zero! He obviously doesn't know how to win. He batted 7th, if he were any good at all don't you think Lou would have moved him up? This craze for Soto is out of control. Brad Ausmus will be a free agent this year. Hector Villenuava is an option too. ARam had 0 RBI. Dump him!! Agreed, RBI is the most important stat by far. Then Night Games started, then sacrifice bunts, then batting avg. Those are the only 4 you need. the only stat i care about is if he hustles to first when he hits a grounder.
  13. I dont understand why people keep saying this. The Cubs have one of the better offenses in the NL. They have one of the better rotations in the NL. They have one of the better bullpens in the NL. So why cant they come together as a cohesive unit? If you cant come together and form Voltron all you have is a bunch of goofs riding around in robot lions. best offenses in the nl? the cubs were 8th in runs scored, 8th in slg, 9th in obp, 11th in home runs, and 8th in ops. we were mediocre at best on offense. the cubs probably had the 2nd best pitching overall, but they also gave up the 4th most walks, so it's not like the pitching was lights out. it's disappointing the cubs lost and played like they did, but i don't think anyone should be shocked.
  14. i put 20 bucks on the indians while i was in vegas, so go indians.
  15. he takes a pitch barely outside and then swings at garbage low and away?
  16. over/under on how many pitches it takes for the cubs to go 1-2-3 this inning? i
  17. the cubs don't deserve the world series. why did we expect good things out of these losers?
  18. rich hill is making the sox fans extra happy today
  19. what is the cubs' whip in the postseason? it seems there's 2 baserunners at least every inning
