  1. Please dont say he did it with Marlon Byrd and Rudy Jaramillo......................

  3. Lets start the 2010 Cubs over / under thread! Suggestions or your predictions wanted! Cubs Wins - 86 Soriano Home Runs - 27 Lee RBIs - 105 Ramirez Games played - 120 Theriot Caught Steals - 10 Piniella Ejections - 2 Zambrano Home Runs - 3 Castro Games played - 20 Marmol Saves - 30 Wins vs Cardinals - 9 Fukudome Walks - 70 Nady Home Runs - 12 Fontenot AVG - .270 Zambrano Wins - 14 Dempster Wins - 12 Lilly Wins - 12 Wells Wins - 10 Pink Hat guy behind home plate at home games - 75
  4. To me it does not make sense to have Marshall and Gorz in the long role at all together. Gorzelany has more potential than Silva I believe and should be the guy who gets more starts throughout the season.
  5. AL East - Red Sox, Yankees, Rays, Orioles, Blue Jays AL Central - Tigers, Twins, White Sox, Indians, Royals AL West - Angels, Mariners, Rangers, Atheletics AL Wild Card - Yankees AL ROY - Austin Jackson, DET AL Cy Young - Jake Peavy, WSOX AL MVP - A-Roid, Yankees NL East - Braves, Phillies, Marlins, Mets, Nationals NL Central - Cardinals, Cubs, Reds, Brewers, Astros, Pirates NL West - Diamondbacks, San Fransisco, Rockies, Dodgers, Padres NL Wildcard - Cubs NL ROY - Jason Heyward, Braves NL Cy Young - Adam Wainright, Cardinals NL MVP - Albert Pujols, Cardinals Playoffs: Cardinals over DBacks Cubs over Braves Red Sox over Tigers Yankees over Angels Red Sox over Yankees Cardinals over Cubs Red Sox over Cardinals Key predictions - Phillies struggle due to down years and injuries similar to '09 Cubs, Rockies struggle with closer issues and pitching issues, Webb comes back strong. Haren, Webb and young stars such as Upton and Reynolds lead DBacks to playoffs. Cubs win opening series vs. Braves in the playoffs but do not bring their bats to the NLCS. Fukudome has his first .300 season leading baseball the NL with .427 OBP.
  6. I would approach Colvin in a similar manner to Castro, let him start in AAA and if he tears the cover off the ball than work him in as a 4th outfield in favorable situations. Fuld will be fine to begin the season and it sounds as if Nady could possibly begin on the 15 day DL because he cannot throw. Hopefully Fonty can handle backing up SS and out bench opens up like this(nady on dl): Baker/Fonty, Hill, Fuld, Tracy.... Millar if you carry 13 hitters.
  7. Based on zero statistical data, and strictly opinion.... Soriano will be fine!
  8. As i hit submit I realized his decent year was 3 seasons ago....
  9. Millar was not bad 2 years ago. Definitely declining and was crap last year but if he gets 200 ABs off the bench in favorable matchups he could possibly hit 8-10 homers and ops .800. That being said if there is an injury I would much rather put Tracy on the field full time.
  10. Would anyone here give Trammel a shot to manage with Sandberg as the bench coach? Im not saying I want Sandberg as either but a lot of people have drawn the conclusion he will be a part of the big league club sooner than later. I would much rather have Trammel at the helm than Sandberg.
  11. Vitters looked good, Both Burke and Brett Jackson have the look of solid hitters and seemed to have a decent approach.
  12. Anyone notice Theriot with lower hands and a slight toe tap? Looks like Rudy may have been working on him seeing the ball longer, possibly to increase walk totals for the leadoff spot?
  13. I really hope Castro starts one of the two televised games this weekend, I have yet to see him in live action! Would not mind a glimpse of Brett Jackson either!
  14. I was going to see who drafts Bradley in my fantasy league and send them constant hate messages stating to please deliver these to Bradley.
  15. White or Black Sammy?
  16. Im not too worried about Sanberg managing the team if there continues to be solid hitting coaches and pitching coaches to support him. Not near a choice I would make but still. I am just hoping the yankees flop and Girardi gets the boot. I would love Joe managing the Cubs.
  17. Anyone think Ramirez will eventually end up at 1B for the Cubs? Maybe not next year but if Vitters is ready and Ramirez is still around it makes sense right? In an imaginary world why not move Ramirez to 1B and acquire HRam via trade!
  18. Jim Hendry is an idiot Milton Bradley is a miserable person By the way, I believe I sent Jim Hendry hate mail for being a subpar at best GM but i do not hear him crying to the media.
  19. Bobby Scales should never be starting.... Period.
  20. I think Marlon Byrd is going to be well worth the contract he was given. Not just basing this on one meaningless Spring game but just a feeling.
  21. then leave him in the minors to start! I cannot wait for Cashner either but Gaub is the guy we need in the pen. Guz, Grabow, Gaub, Marmol, Caridad and whatever is left from the rotation competition is good with me.
  22. Maybe following Lee's departure Hendry or whoever is the GM can pull of a deal for Adrian Gonzalez. A sign and trade deal for him would be one of the best routes to go IMO.
  23. Reaction: Carlos Silva has a bigger stomach than Lou
  24. I think with Lee it hinges on how he does this next season, with the ability he has if he puts up even close to the numbers he did last season at a higher level, he will be right there in the top 50.
