  1. Another couple of weeks of inconsistency out of Theriot both offensively and defensively and I think Castro's name will be involved in every press conference.
  2. Please, I am sure Bobby V would love to get out from behind the desk.
  3. :pig: You wouldn't pay $20 to watch even mediocre baseball? I would as it is the best sport there is.
  4. Maybe I have been drinking the koolaid still but I cannot accept we are middle of the pack in this division. Yes the homestand sucked and ended with a major shot to the gut but it is way too early to write the team off as mediocre. Are the Cubs going to have to straighten stuff out quick to compete with the Cardinals? Yes, but looking at the schedule if the Cubs offense can continue to have good at bats they should really be in good shape the first 3 games vs the Mets and face the same lineup of Brewer pitchers this weekend. Our key this week will really be the starting pitching. If Z and Wells can put together 2 quality starts then we should have a pretty lock down shot at winning those 4 games, then we need to just have one starter step up to make it a 5-2 trip. if that happens we come home @ 8-7 againts Washing and AZ. Do not give up yet I think most of us are liking the approach the offense has had, the results were not there yesterday and not really Saturday but our big guys are heating up.
  5. Atleast Byrd knows how to approach a game with the wind blowing in... He is quickly becoming my favorite player.
  6. Hank White would've single'd in Fook for the win.
  7. Yay, we have Koyie Hill batting next.......
  8. Get on Fook, I like this matchup for Baker!
  9. Yea but he has to be batting .800 in close/late situations or .500 off the bench against the Cubs.
  10. Let's continue to beat up crappy bullpen pitchers!
  11. Can we please have the Cubs pound the Mets within the next 2games to give Marmol and Marshall a break? Or Both Go Marmol!
  12. Hopefully sitting right behind home plate at todays game taking notes.
  13. Egon (Harold Ramis) Looks homeless, is the economy that bad?
  14. I just cannot remember Ramirez ever striking out 15 times in this few at bats. He looks like he is trying to set the home run record.
  15. You can't say he's looked better against them in the last three days: they haven't thrown him outside pitches except in that last AB. His best hit this series was in an AB where he saw three straight inside fastballs and then a slider over the middle of the plate. Every team this season just pitched him away and he was hitting .214 when Houston showed up. Oh come one. You drop the .214 like he was on a downward slide when the Astros came to town. The .214 was actually the result of him doing better compared to the first couple of series. Like the Bum pointed out, he went 3 for 7 against the Brewers. He has clearly looked better all series, regardless of pitch location. Anyone who has watched Soriano over the past couple of season knows what Soriano looks like when he is struggling versus starting to hit. All I was saying is he is starting to hit the ball better which is an easy proven fact. I am guessing by how quickly you shoot this down you are one of the so called "great fans" who boo's Soriano when he goes 2-3?
  16. Yea I would truly like to see Theriot in the 8th sport with Fuku leading off vs. RHP's followed by Byrd.
  17. Soriano's only hitting because the Astros apparently don't have or believe scouting reports. He still can't hit anything on the outside He never could. It's silly to act like teams are going to suddenly only pitch him outside when they could have done that all along. Exactly when Soriano is going well he watching outside pitches and waits for the pitch over the plate. He has looked better vs. outside pitches the past 4 days. I think that is one advantage with putting Soriano in the 6th spot, he is not the person you focus on holding down in this lineup as to when he was leadoff if was one of the first people you looked at in the lineup and came up with a game plan to keep him off base.
  18. Any bets that he may be the first manager fired this year? if the lead holds the Sox will start out 4-9 on the season with not a lot of positives to come out of the first 2 weeks of the season.
  19. Lee and Soto are pretty locked in, Byrd is putting up good at bats and Sori is starting to hit I think we should be in for a good next week of Cubs baseball.
