So that's the league's story. Police refused to tell us the whole truth? Goodell is such a smarmy piece of [expletive] i almost admire him. He's the perfect boogeyman for the NFL owners. He's paid 30mln a year by them to protect them and personally take all the criticism from the media and fans. He's worth every penny to jerry Jones and the other billionaire owners. He's like a giant piñata they set up to be the face of all the negativity.

What was the result often criminal investigation by the police and wat was he charged with. I seem to remember LA county being man enough to force Chris Brown into 18 months of legal proceedings. Floyd Mayweather at least went to jail for a while. Why was rice just let off?

This is the same as Donald sterling. The league doesn't care unless there is a viral youtube clip. Both leagues were guilty of harboring a known wife beater/racist and didn't give a [expletive] until it was a viral video. How about the 49er who played yesterday despite the fact he beat his pregnant wife. How about all the other guys in the NFL who have beaten a woman? It doesn't really matter until their is video. Did anybody expect it to look any different? The fact she was unconscious shouldn't have even mattered.

USC pulled off a great win but sark getting that penalty and Haden looking like a clown was silly. USCs offensive play calling was terrible. They absolutely did not deserve to win that game. The game was blown by Stanford.

I don't get this. Oregons offense is the worst rated unit and MSUs offense is the best rate. What do they base these scores on? Oregon pretty much did what they always do when they are successful. Broke a few plays and had a couple 8 play 120 second TD drives and a long dominating nail in the coffin TD drive to end the game. They completely dominated MSU in the second half to win handily. MSUs offense closed the game with 5 consecutive bad drives. I know people try to quantify NCAAF but this seems like a bad attempt. Or I'm reading it wrong.

Weak slate. UCLA @ Texas could be a good game. Maybe the Vols could show that they are for real, but OK has looked so impressive. The best game is Georgia at USC. I'm very hopeful that the Gamecocks could save the season with an upset.

Unless there was a retroactive change to the 2013 season, he finished 8-8. And LOL at the idea that the 2012 Bears were a "playoff" team. Im talking about the 2013. Forgot we went 8-8. That team should have made the playoffs if not for a number of asinine in game decisions.

Dallas is also poorly coached and has had huge iunjury problems. Romo has been really good for the past 8 or so years. Better than Jay based on the eye test and every single traditional or advanced metric. That said Trestman single handedly took a playoff team last year and turned them into a 7-9 team. Last year Jay was pretty good Trestman wasnt.

I think most people wish we had Romo instead of Jay. At least Mccown just threw a horrible pick in the red zone when 3 pts would probably seal a win.

Why do people do such gymnastics to defend Jay all the time? exactly how good are we supposed to think Cutler is? Hes pretty good most of the time but are we supposed to think hes one of the 4-5 best QBs in the league? Was today the kind of play that you want from Cutler?

How do you lose to BYU at home by 40? Texas has to have superior talent. Strong came in with a ton of hard ass attitude and got pasted by BYU at home.

Texas getting blown out by BYU in Austin is unacceptable. They have plenty of talent on that field. It's simply terrible coaching. It's impossible for me to believe that strong will last. How can you let that happen at home? Texas and Michigans football programs are total embarrassments to the legacies of their programs. Hoke and Strong were both step down hires. Texas should have hired Petrino. Hoke should have already been fired. Texas is gonna suck until they get the next Nick Saban to come in at 10 mil per year.

The -4.5 game line scares me because I thought the -2.5 on Berdych cilic was crazy and that Berdych would spank cilic. Federer needs to come out and bury cilic to set up the final Monday. And taking that title and playing well for the rest of the year may put him in position to take the no. 1 ranking. Being world 1 at 33 is just [expletive] crazy. Potentially cements him as the greatest sportsman ever.

Essentially if you kept everything I like about the nfl got rid of everything I don't like about the NFL, didn't allow Chris Berman or Mike dikta to participate, didn't drastically restrict my ability to watch the games on TV, and did it all on Saturday; thats about what college football is for me.

I think the top of the FCS is better than the very bottom of the FBS so in effect you are punishing the northern iowas and Dakota states Of the world and favoring the putrid FBS schools. But the approach isn't bad.

With respect, the only winner in that scenario is Akron or ULMs bank account. That doesn't create an interesting matchup for for the general public and instead of a 40 pt dog you have a 35 pt dog. What would be actually interesting is if top teams had their one non com rivalry game against a top program (which they already generally do) and then 3 games against a Utah state, NIU, UCF calibre opponent from a mid conference. But like I said there isn't incentive because wins against Utah State don't help you in the minds of the voters or talking heads and losses can crush your season.
