Yes, Rudy deserves the Cubs. Seriously though, don't you wonder what is said, if anything, when they bring in a reliever who has to pitch with the bases loaded and nobody out? Again, I don't expect Soriano to be anything other than what he is, but the writers and Cubs brass claim Barney has a high baseball IQ yet he swings at a terrible pitch. Like Gerald Perry used to say, you don't necessarily go to the plate looking for a walk, but you look for a pitch to drive, not just a pitch you can hit. It is funny that he became a scapegoat, but Hendry isn't questioning Rudy's ability when his teams have been at the bottom of the league in offense.
