True that....he pitched 1 real good game in 2 weeks I personally think they are being very stupid going to a 4 man. With his injury history it is begging for problems. He IS an eggshell....I'm surprized he has not went down.

How will the Cubs win 2 of 3 when they're playing a 4 game series? Just speculating on the next 3 games. OK?

I bet baseball but I laid off of this game....Carpenter ain't lost a start in a while, so he is due to lose one, but the Bucs suck so I'm scared. But the Cards WILL win 2 of 3. So will the Cubs.

This is the part of the OP that intrigues me. By all accounts, TLR despises the Cubs and everything they stand for, and I shudder to think of him in a Cubs uniform, and I dont think hed ever want to wear one. On the other hand, TLR seems like the kind of arrogent prick who could take the job, on the off chance that the Cubs dont win the WS this year just so he could say that he was the one to finally take the Cubs there and say screw you, your welcome. That is an astute obsevation....for him to take the Cubs to the top without his 'roid laden A's or talent clogged Cards would be like the Holy Grail in his career. The thing is, he won't ever win another WS. Just look at the lineup he put out there on Wed when they lost 10 to 0. And as to this stuff about his winning record, PLEASE! In a 1,000 games with an average W.Sox team he won 12 more games than he lost. And he is not the man now that he was back then.

I don't know, Derwood. You may be right. But to bunt after a leadoff double but to NEVER bunt with a man on 3rd in a 1 run game and 1 out seems a little crazy to me. Tony has mashers in that line-up and has them BUNT? With no outs and a man in scoring position? Just giving a free out for ONE chance at a sac fly. How can you defend this idiocy?

That's true, Bleed. But the division has been weak. Anybody could be in 1st now. 10 days ago the REDS were knocking! But now it's just Cubs and Cards. Take that to the bank. The new hitters for St.Louis will keep them in the race, but Aram and D Lee will do the same. Pitching, I think will be the thing. BTW, you over estimate LaGenius....the man is a shell. All crust and no meat. Too old for the job, and will SURELY be gone after this year.

The reason is LaRussa. The man is doing all he can to shoot his team in the foot. He sits Ludwick for Ankiel, he platoons Lugo and Schumaker when any fool can see Lugo is the better player. He continues to trot Joe Thurston out there when he leads the world in errors, and cannot find 1st base on a dbl. He won't hit and run, he won't let anyone steal and he has not squeezed all YEAR! If not for "Vomitgate" Duncan would still be striking out in St. Louis rather than in Pawtucket. DeRo is clearly hurt (wrist) and has a BA lower than everybody on the team, including pitchers, but plays on. Lou is a protean genius by compairison. Tony's players hate his guts , and St. Louis is finally figuring out that he dislikes players not lilly white. The St.Louis media may not ask tough questions in the post game interviews or they will be banned. Carpenter is due for another visit to the DL, and when that happens there will only be Wainwright. The worst thing about the whole thing is that LaRussa may get Lou's job after this season. The Cubs covet Cards and the Cards covet cubs. Stay tuned.
