  1. This season is sooo much worse than 2004. I think I have enjoyed maybe a month out of this whole season.
  2. And there, folks, is the season. Jim Hendry, your on the clock.
  3. It's almost to the point where Lou is sending Miles up there to embarrass Hendry for signing him. Kinda like: "Thanks for this team, Jim".
  4. And Hendry signed Miles for 2 years, 5m. :rotfl:
  5. They're mailing it in and it's pretty obvious they are done.
  6. Don't worry. The cubs have one of the top gm's in the game to make things right. LOL It'll be interesting to see what Ricketts does with the team if he finally takes over during the offseason. http://www.desipio.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/hendry-phone.jpg "I understand, Tom".
  7. Ronnie: "Gee, Wiz. You think the Padres were the ones that were 6 games back".
  8. Isn't this offense fun to watch? In 15 innings against bad pitcning, the Cubs regaular starters (Taking away Demps RBI) have scored 3 runs.
  9. There might be the season. Jim Hendry, the door is ready for you to exit.
  10. I don't think anyone sensed flukiness last year until the playoffs. I kinda of though Geo and Demp had flukish seasons, which had a lot to do with us having 97 wins. There is something about that Dodgers team that screams 1st round exit.
  11. 2009 Dodgers are the 2008 Cubs. You kind of sense some flukyness in both seasons.
  12. I think Soriano is 0-10 this series. I'm sickened we have this guy for 5 more years at 18M per.
  13. The funny part in all of this is that if we're 2 back heading into September, all of us will be in this thing until then end. I look at it like this; if the Cubs win the division, I'm happy and I'll get ready for the playoffs. If they don't, I will be happy that there's a good chance Hendry will get canned and Lou will walk. It's a win win :D)
  14. At least you recognize how helpless you are in the face of such overwhelming dominance. Please, your a student in lincoln park, you should be out having a good time instead of "dominating" internet chat boards. However, I doubt your the "dominating" force in the social scene that you are around here. Ok, I cracked up at this. :D)
  15. But Lou is a good manager. :-)) These are the type of moves I am talking about. I would just let Heilman get lit up here.
  16. Hopefully Lou is the one getting canned This really isn't Lou's fault. Blame the architect of the team. Not even that. A lot of injuries + an bad off season from Soriano. Their is nothing wrong with the architect of the team. This is a joke, correct? 2 year deal to Miles, 3 year deal to Bradley, 8 year deal to Soriano and trading DeRosa this past off season.
  17. That could happen as well. It just seems like Bob REALLY knows the game and he's NOT affraid to call players out. We'll see but Lou is done and it couldn't be more obvious. Not only does he look defeated, he has know idea what he's doing out there. He might be the worst in game manager in the bigs right now. Wow, I hope you aren't serious. About Lou? Yes, I am. You know people like Dusty Baker and Jim Riggleman have manager jobs right now right? On crapola teams. Those teams combined don't have the payroll we have. Dusty is bad, so is Riggs, but Lou is right up there. Have you not seen the man manage this year? Leaving pitchers into hit only to go to the pen right after the inning is one of many idiotic moves I can think of.

  21. I've really grown to appreciate him too. I wonder if Brenly's going to get jumped by anyone on the team. You'd really have to wonder if he would get a chance to manage the team is Lou retires, which I fully expect him to do. The Cubs are a reflection of him right now. He seems very matter of fact this year and so does this team. Injuries aside, they have looked like a mediocre team all year long.
  22. For anyone who can't hear Brenly, he's on a roll right now. He's basically calling out this team for a lack of intensity and fire. He said it's happened far too often this year. I really do like Brenly.
