  1. Wait, you mean Aaron Heilman, Aaron Miles, Bob Howry, Todd Hundley, Kevin Gregg and Neil Cotts are not black? They have to be because Cubs fans are racists and only hard on the black peeps. Milton, seriously, demand a trade. Take your .260 hitting, 11HR having, 34 RBI producing ass to a place like Toronto or Washington. He's a POS.
  2. The Cubs have given up, that's more than obvious.
  3. Hopefully it ends with Soriano in the intensive care unit of the local hospital. Add Soto.
  4. http://www.mensfitness.com/images/mf/209667/14002.jpg One hit. That's all we got is one GD hit.
  5. Hmmm, what part of Sandy Alderson being my 1st choise did you guys miss? And Coletti is a far better choice than he's getting credit for. Anyway, I like how you know it alls can pick apart a choice but have none of your own. Classic.
  6. Fuld really is a very, very good outfielder. Say what you want about him but he can play. I'd rather see him in there than the hot garbage we've seen all year.
  7. Yes. Have you not seen what he has done over the last 8 years with far less money to spend?
  8. You think he spent 850M to let the clowns currently running the show stay on board? He's going to clean house.
  9. Crane Kenney was on the local afternoon show (Carmen, Yurko and Harry) and he said he expects the Ricketts family to meet with the higher ups with the Cubs within 2 months. Once I heard this, I became VERY excited with the possibility that drastic changes will be made. Tom Ricketts is not only our new owner, he just so happens to be a HUGE Cubs fan. In fact, I read a story he met his wife in the bleachers years ago. IMO, the first thing Tom needs to do is tell Hendry: "Thanks, here's your check, now leave". I don't think I need to document why Hendry should be shown the door. IMO, the second thing he needs to do is hire Sandy Alderson or steal Ned Coletti from the Dodgers. If he gets either once of these guys I'll be one happy fan. The third thing I would do is hire either Bobby Valentine or promote Alan Trammell as manager. I think Lou is counting the days until the seasons over and he'll walk when it's done.We need good baseball people to run this team and I think the guys I mentioned are just that. I have not totally given up on 2009 just yet, but I think it's over. Here's to new ownership and one that will finally bring us a world title.
  10. Haha. And now Manny makes a webgem play on us. Let this season end.
  11. Ok, I don't know why, but this cracked me up.
  12. That will be almost impossible. Lou is basically in a coma out there. Hope you love bunting with the #3 hitter and a general disdain towards statistics. Sandberg hasn't shown himself to be the brightest bulb in this system. Just because he wants to manage doesn't mean he'll be given the reins when Lou steps down. Haha! Hey, I'm not saying Ryno is Sparky Anderson, I'm just saying there's a strong chance he'll be next. And after watching Lou this year, he can't be any worse.
  13. That will be almost impossible. Lou is basically in a coma out there. Not really. Sandberg would make more idiotic coaching decision before all star break then Piniella. At least Piniella has the "Resume" as a manager to be given the benefit of the doubt. Sandberg doesn't. So, basically, Ryno would have to trump Lou's move to pinch hit Miles tonight. That's a real tough trick. He's done this crap all season.

  16. If history is any guide, they'll be greeted with apathy more than anything else. I remember numerous games towards the end of 2006 with empty seats and quiet fans. Well, the 2006 team wasn't expected to do crap. This team was and has failed beyond belief.
  17. Media speculation and he's a Cubs legend who has worked his way through the minors to get his shot. He was on with Waddle and Silvy today and he basically said he's ready for a chance to become a big league manager. Lou's gone and the naming of Ryno as manager will create quite a buzz with the fans. The Cubs will need that going into 2010 after this wreck of a season. Or, you know, hiring a good manager that actually gets these guys to play fundamentally sound baseball and win a few games. Thats a way to create a buzz with the fans too... I didn't hear it obviously, but if Ryno was really pushing for the job as the Cubs season goes down the drain that is not very classy at all. He wasn't pushing for it, he was asked. He didn't say: "Yes, I want to manage the Cubs". However, he's managing a farm team of ours, knows the game and knows the urgency involved here. Just connect the dots.
  18. Wrigley is going to be unbearable for Lou, Milton, Soriano, Gregg, and Miles in September. If they thought the booing was bad during the summer, they have no idea what they are in for with this team all but done and having the 3rd highest payroll in the majors. It's going to get ugly.
  19. There is a postgame show? http://johngaltfla.com/blog2/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/uecker_clicks.jpg "No one is listening anyway"

  21. Do tell. I mean, I fully expect Lou to run and hide after this season, but sooner??? It was a lot of speculation, but the discussion was that Lou is very frustrated and could possibly step down as soon as the Cubs are mathematically eliminated. He said it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that he won't be back next year. Well then...who replaces him? Will they make a splash like they have the last 3 managers, or will they go in house and hire someone like Trammel? From all indications, Ryno WILL BE the next Cubs manager.

He said it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that he won't be back next year. I can see that. Lou looks like he did in his last year in Tampa. He clearly isn't managing worth a damn and he and Hendry are most certainly not on the same page.

  24. 7 games back. This team isn't capable of erasing that type of lead. But we were capable of coming back from 6? Not really. However, when you're a Cubs fan, you get this feeling when you know it's over. This team doesn't have much heart and they have absolutely no leadership.
