  1. LOL at this team http://www.rivalfish.com/rivalroom/uploaded_images/Major-League-773959.jpg
  2. I want to watch this movie tonight. I will watch this tonight. Seriously, it will be like watching the Cubs right up until the Tribe wins it, which of course elimates that being us.
  3. http://butthorn.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/gammon.jpg
  4. And the Cubs are looking like they are ready to catch the plane home. Pretty sad effort.
  5. Another fine move by Jim Hendry=Jeff Baker.
  6. http://www.themoviemind.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/lou-brown.jpg "Soneone better get this kid some glasses before he kills somebody"
  7. And because we are the Cubs, you just know this one is going to get reversed.
  8. It's a never ending parade of injuries. Seriously, if the Cubs do get in the playoffs this year, someone has to be smiling on this team.
  9. This is going to be challenging for several reasons. For one, only Milton Bradley has a contract that you MIGHT be able to move. Secondly, the ownership issue is still not resolved. So, given these obstacles, what would you do to revamp this team for 2010? I still think the Cubs will win the division this year, but if the injuries continue at this pace, I might have to look to 2010 soon. Do you let Harden walk? Do you give Jake the RF job and try and trade Bradley? Do you trade Jake for some good prospects, or a major league ready second basemen? Also, who's the manager going to be? Is Lou coming back (I say doubtful)? What will the new managers style of play dictate? Have at it.
  10. http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2009/08/post-5.html What a disaster this off season has been
  11. Bah. We'll still be up 2 in the loss column in our division. I'd rather be us than the Cardinals because of that fact.
  12. if the score stays the same, is anyone of us prepared for Kevin Gregg, in Coors, holding a 1 run lead? Talk about needing a drink. On to the 9th.
  13. I don't consider first place by percentage points "first place" What is it? Second place?? I cracked up at this.
  14. And back in 1st place. Hendry had better make a waiver deal for another arm for the pen as this can't continue.
  15. How can you not love Brenly after what he just said?
  16. Fixed for truth and accuracy. Carry on.
  17. Well, I'm sure not many people thought we'd get swept out of the playoffs when we were easily the best team in the NL all year. If the Cubs hit, they'll win. The pitching is there.
  18. Well, well. The Cubs have the least amount of losses than anyone in the division. That's hard to believe considering how challenging this season has been. Perhaps this is last season in reverse? :good:
  19. :D) Good to be back amongst my fellow Cubs fans.
  20. I'm amazed that this team is tied for 1st in the loss column, considering this might be the worst offense in the league. Yes, the pitching is strong, but as Lou has said all along, this team has to hit. This team is the most boring team since the 2002 Cubs team. Have you guys ever seen a team that makes as many easy outs as this team? "Broken bat grounder to second" "Lazy fly out" "Three hoper to short". This team doesn't instill fear in anyone but our pitching staff who have to watch this garbage night in and night out. It was an appalling off=season for Hendry, yet he might win his third straight NLC crown. Anyway, avoid the sweep tomorrow and come on home.
