  1. Couldn't be happier about this
  2. Motion to change the name of the website to Theo's North Side Baseball
  3. One concern with Kane at center is it would open him up to more physical contact out there so having Carcillo around could be very helpful. It's a terrible idea. If you don't want Kane more exposed to open ice hits, don't have him play center. The reason he is playing center is to get the puck on his stick more and let him be the best passer in the league he is and feed his wingers. Not passing to Daniel bleeping Carcillo. Hopefully this is just practice fun with 3 days before the next game. My biggest criticism of Q continues to be his roulette lines game.
  4. I have a feeling that tomorrow the Cubs are going to introduce their new GM and Team President, Theo Epstein. In which case I would proceed to get stinking drunk.
  5. Haha, I'm sure he was like, wait, you traded me to where?! Him and Nash on a line could be pretty formidable. I'm not convinced about how well they will gel, but if they do, it'll be fun to watch them. I think Rick Nash is one of the most underrated players in the NHL
  6. We have little to no mainstream media in town who knows how to cover hockey. Rozner is awful. I mean, really just completely terrible. Never read him for any cognitive thought on anything. Most guys just talk about vague concepts such as momentum and sending message and all that other garbage. Chris Kuc is decent, I'd put him at the top but there's a significant drop off after him. For good hockey thoughts and analysis you really need to read blogs and message boards. Places like Second City Hockey and Fifth Feather were all up in arms over those Keith comments.
  7. Really? I think Bickell and Frolik have been two of their better players. Frolik is a sexy pick league wide to have a breakout season and it seems Q decided to keep his foot firmly up Bickell's ass. I think the 3rd line of Frolik-Bolland-Bickell is going to be superb
  8. Kind of a mess with injuries right now. If i HAD to guess, I'd go Sharp-Toews-Saad Hossa-Kane-Brunette Frolik-Bolland-Bickell? Carbomb-Mayers-Olesz? Stalbergs/Smith injuries obviously change things. Then D pairings are hopefully. These are the obvious top 6: Keith-Seabs Hammer-Leddy Montador-O'Donnell
  9. Kruger sent down. Expected because he has been not good, but it makes his call up and praise last year from Bowman look more ridiculous. Also expected, Olsen, Hayes and LeBlanc sent down. Minor surprise, Pirri sent down. Expect to see him with the big club sooner rather than later. Still carrying 7 d-men and whatever you want to call John Scott.
  10. You're right in that it always seems to be something with them. I think Halak will be better this year. TJ Oshie could be really good if he can just get consistent. I like the signings of Arnott and Langenbrunner who should be motivated on one year deals and provide some additional scoring. I expect the Central to get 3 teams in, wouldn't be shocked at 4.
  11. The division should be pretty good this year. The Hawks and Wings will be fighting for first all year. Probably a first to 104 points or so. The Blues are going to better and will be a playoff team. Unfortunately, they still have a bunch of players who are nothing more than a giant bag of dicks. Nashville will be new season and same story. Great D, but can they score enough? They easily could sneak into the playoffs again and become the ole' team no one wants to play. Columbus adding Jeff Carter to go with Rick Nash becomes more dangerous. They really need Steve Mason to figure out if he's going to be good. I wouldn't be shocked seeing them competing for an #8 seed but it's not something I'd bet on. I'll go, Hawks Wings Blues Nashville Columbus
  12. What has me more nervous is Bolland not skating with an 'upper body injury' that's not related to concussion. Hope it's not his back again
  13. I'm pretty much just assume all athletes kick puppies when they aren't playing their sport.
  14. Man, F Detroit. I hate those assholes. Already in mid-season form in their smugness after Babcock's comment's last night. Blaming Ben Smith for not keeping his head up after he just juked the jock of your guy.
  15. I actually kind of like it.
  16. I caught most of it. Not really much to say. Olesz did look pretty solid. If he's more than just a guy that'll be super. John Scott is still really bad at hockey. Ben Smith didn't have the best of nights. Other than that it was the equivalent of an NFL preseason game. McNeil looked like he'll be something. I doubt anything was decided for Crawfords backup.
  17. I heard about it at the end of last year and thought about it again when Jimmy Graham scored against GB. Here's an article I found about it: http://www.standard.net/stories/2011/09/06/miami-hurricanes-nfl-touchdown-streak-unmatched-college-annals
  18. I'm guessing all of them. A couple of weeks have been kept alive by a Vinny Testeverde QB sneak for a TD, Ed Reed pick 6 and Hester punt returns
  19. Someone who went to the University of Miami has scored a touchdown every week since Week 15 of the 2002 season. It's 139 straight week which encompasses 613 TD's scored by 33 different players
  20. Had the draft for the team I care most about last night (read: highest entry fee league). Had the 11th pick. 12 teams PPR. Vick Hightower Felix Jones Beanie Wells Fitzgerald Miles Austin Dustin Keller Bench: McNabb Delone Carter Devin Hester Austin Collie Michael Crabtree Sidney Rice Steve Smith (Car) Running back is obviously an area of concern. Grabbed Fitz at 11 and Vick when it snaked back 3 picks later. Mid rounds I tried to stock some WR depth and I'm already wheeling and dealing.
  21. Does Scott's contract allow him to be sent to Rockford? Some quick googling couldn't produce an answer. I'd assume it would be, the boys at Second City assume it is. He's only making 500k this year, so if it comes to the point where we need to get rid of him, really won't harm too much.
  22. Hawks signed Brandon Segal. Worst case scenario this means we won't see any John Scott skating forward. This could put some pressure on Ben Smith and Kruger
  23. He's going to be 26 in less than a week. In 555 career MLB at bats he has 218/278/431/709. He has a career WAR of .7. Sure once his BABIP normalizes a bit he won't be below replacement level player, which he is this year, but his ceiling is falling rapidly imo. He's not going to be a starter on any team winning anything.
  24. He's actually up to .283/.323/.442 after last night. Thanks. Used BR instead of Smokies website. Rookie mistake
  25. Vitters is up to a 281/322/434/756. Turned 22 on Saturday.
