Depends on how you spin it. A one game playoff for teams without identical records is ridiculous

Agreed. I really don't like it. It further cheapens the regular season plus it runs the real risk of drastically affecting the 1 game playoff winner's rotation/bullpen and making them even a bigger underdog in the next round

Few Thoughts: Olesz is terrible. Go to Rockford. Get away from my team. If he's playing 10 minutes a game, we aren't good. Hilariously bad contract Stan. If John Scott is dressing, we are awful. HE ADDS NOTHING. He's one of the worst 5 players in the league. There is no 'toughness' he brings or any deterrent to teams taking runs at anyone. Toews was getting knocked around all night. All teams do is uh, not fight Scott and skill players drool because I can easily skate circles around here. He simply can't play hockey. Stop this. Any minute of ice time he gets is a direct indictment of Q who I'm starting to lose a lot of patience for. This team misses Brian Campbell so much it's not even funny. The past two games teams have forechecked their asses off against us and we have no d-man outside of Keith who can run the transition game. I predict this will be addressed before any thing else this year. I'd love to trade Hammer. I don't know what happened to him, but he's been playing like a 5/6 defensemen ever since the cup finals. If we can get value for him, I'd trade him today. Stop getting outworked jerks. The lineup changes, while bad, weren't even the reason they lost last night.

What steps possibly need to be taken? Is it necessary for there to be a line in policy saying child rape is bad and maybe someone should call the police? It's not unique to Penn State, but this is obviously the most egregious example of where the football team and the money and power it commands becomes out of control. Short of drastic changes to the culture of college sports in general, I don't get how you 'prevent' this from happening. The coaches and administrators in charge at these schools clearly become corrupted with the power, money and influence they have.

Paterno's son issuing a statement saying his Dad is disappointed that the presser was cancelled. So we are to believe that Joe Paterno doesn't have the authority to hold a press conference? Clearly it is due to either A) he can't speak about the impending legal firestorm, B) the school is worried that he will babble something that'll indict more people/the school or likely a combination of both. To issue a statement like that, somehow makes them look worse and I refer them to the signature segment on my favorite show...hey budddddddddddddddy

And then the school cancels its press conference with Paterno. Classy to the end for sure. Making absolutely zero effort to improve their public perception.

Both of my brothers, multiple members of my family are Penn State alums. Grew up going to Penn State games. Feels like a part of my childhood died this weekend. The level of disgust I feel for anything Penn State right now is unprecedented. And Joe Paterno, who no longer deserves the adored nickname of JoePa, is just as, if not more guilty, as anyone other than Sandusky. I really wish the genuine worse for everyone involved.

As literal as you can possibly take it. Players Dad's accompany the team for a couple games on the road trip. you don't know what you are talking about. It's a road trip sponsored by Dad's Root Beer. They do one every year, and while the team is away they open up the UC to the fans to watch at a Dad's sponsored family fest. Kind of hoaky but you need to bring in that casual fan and young families. Mug >Dad's

Good points on the Dad's trip. It's like going on a band trip in high school I think to like Disney World. You are more excited about the trip and the golf/fun etc and kind of forget you have some pesky business to take care of. Patrick Kane has been the best Blackhawk this year.

If he leave the South Side, I can only imagine him going someplace where there's a chance to win the World Series in the next year or two. So, doubtful he comes here is my thinking
