  1. You have no basis to claim this on At least I'm not flipping [expletive] about preseason. Season's definitely over because we can't keep up with the best team in the NFL, in their stadium, during the preseason. I can point to last year's defense and how this defense has looked the same so far as one basis. The Bears aren't making the playoffs unless they're vastly improved. Um, it's not a basis because it's preseason perhaps? If you're going to use last year, we were still one play away from making the playoffs with that defense. Slight improvement is all we need, although vast would be nice, but I refuse to gauge these things in preseason. Either way, 10 wins is hardly unreasonable with this offense.

  3. Haha [expletive] this game. Don't even care, we're still winning 10 this year.
  4. We'd have 4 or 5 sacks by now with any average footed QB behind center.
  5. I'd be shocked if Seattle doesn't repeat this year.
  6. How about a stop on 3rd down for once?
  7. This isn't exactly the ideal venue or opponent to make me feel good about the upcoming season. Still early though. If we don't win handily against Buffalo Week 1 at home, then I'll be worried.
  8. To be fair, "in position" and Cobb probably doesn't score. Whether he's the best FS on the roster or not, I have every right to flip tables at the mention of his name.

  10. I totally forgot about Spurlock as a returner. 5 total return TDs in his career, 3 kickoff and 2 punt.
  11. Well, Week 10 would be 15 weeks after the injury, so I'm not sure why they call that optimistic if it's a 12-14 week timeline. Oh well, either way it's pretty clear that we shouldn't count on Wilson being much of a factor this season.
  12. Considering he retired on his rookie contract and had a very expensive injury, it wouldn't surprise me if he's an ordinary waiter/cook. Very sad.
  13. Has till like November to complete community service that would wipe the charge and keep him on the field. I don't think that's the issue here, the Bears just don't seem that high on him. Cutting Weems for Holmes makes me a happy man. If healthy, he's still 30 and should have a little bit left. Although the fact that he was unemployed is obviously a bit of a red flag. Like was said though, almost no risk. Chris Williams needs to be the KR/PR. Hopefully the hammy is coming along.
  14. Can we finally elevate Josh Morgan to #3 WR until Wilson returns? Weems had no business there or anywhere else on the field last night.
  15. I think this is the year I'll finally buy low on Cutler as my starting QB. 6th or 7th round sounds about right, and I'll probably draft a good backup not too long after just in case. Of course I could always change my mind last minute and draft Newton for the third year in a row. But I've been wanting to do this for the past couple years and now that Trestman's offense is established and proven, I finally feel comfortable doing it.
  16. They hate on our defense yet pick a team who is notorious for bad defense, not to mention having one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, to win a division where two of their three opponents have Top 5 offenses. Makes sense. Also, barring injury, I think this is the year Cutler finally cements himself as the second-best QB in the North, for those who don't think he is already.
  17. I'll take a washed up Adrian Wilson over Chris Conte, and so should the Bears' staff.
  18. Color me very surprised that we got through almost three pages of serious discussion about racing before someone inevitably made this comment.
  19. Thought the first-teamers looked pretty good tonight on both sides of the ball. Loved the pressure the front four were getting on D. Unfortunately this game really made me realize that special teams is a huge concern. Between losing our once-in-a-lifetime returner, having a new long-snapper, and the fact that DeCamillis is mostly an idiot has me genuinely worried about this unit for the first time since about 2005.
  20. I still can't believe we got Russell, McKinney, and Straily just for Shark and Jason [expletive] Hammel. Theo took Brad Pitt out behind the dirty, dirty woodshed.
  21. Foles with as many picks this game as he had all of last season.
  22. Refs absolutely have their dicks out right now. Flags every play.
  23. This team's going to compete in 2015. We're two simple callups away from having Baez, Bryant, Rizzo, Castro, Soler, and Alcantara hitting 2-7. Leave Coghlan in leadoff, Castillo at 8. Go play baseball. Screw pitching.
  24. I feel like they could have at least added a half-open mouth and/or cigarette to this.
