  1. If we head into Minnesota at 7-6 and in the thick of the WC race, I could definitely see Kevin White happening. I believe that's the final week he can be activated.
  2. No way I'm shelling out 100+ for Shark. Heyward and Leake please.
  3. First time we've been in a playoff spot since Dwight left... We don't stinks! As much
  4. Yeah, just not sure how a home win vs NYG would be more impressive than a road win at GB. Or how the Bears fail to leapfrog any of the three 5-6 teams ahead of them coming off losses. Also Philly jumped a spot after being humiliated by Detroit lol
  5. I'm normally not one to care about power rankings, but the Bears actually dropped a spot on ESPN's rankings, after beating GB in Lambeau. What?
  6. After tinkering with the playoff machine for over an hour, a few things… One is that we’d win a tiebreaker over Atlanta (at either 9-7 or 10-6) providing they beat Jacksonville (non-conf) and don’t sweep Carolina. That last one isn’t going to happen, so basically any loss has to be against an NFC team and not the Jags. That’s all. The second is that the playoff machine seems to love the Bears on a multi-team tiebreaker at both 9-7 and 10-6, even against Seattle. I worked out several scenarios for 3 and 4-team tiebreakers (vs ATL, SEA, GB/MIN) with the Bears at both 10-6 and 9-7 and most had them getting into the playoffs, some even had them with the 5th seed. However, any ATL and SEA losses have to be against NFC teams for this to really work, so they need to take care of any remaining AFC opponents (ATL plays JAX, SEA plays BAL and CLE), all games in which they should be favored to do so. I’m also banking on the loser of the NFC East not becoming a factor in the WC (unlikely), as things get a bit trickier if they are. We’re screwed in all two-way tiebreakers (not counting WSH or TB, which we could win H2H) except Atlanta, as mentioned above. One exception would be if Green Bay loses both remaining division games, then we could win a tie with them too. There are a lot more ways to get in at 9-7 than I imagined. It’s unlikely, but very possible. Also, Seattle playing Minnesota this week is good, as we’ll get a helpful result there no matter what.
  7. Anything can happen, but the Bears should be 7-6 in two weeks. Need the Vikes and Steelers to beat Atlanta and Seattle this weekend.
  8. Hell I'm disappointed that we only got one of the Rex brothers. Misleading name.
  9. I've pretty much accepted that the tide in the division won't really turn until Rodgers retires, which I think they know too. Obviously in the NFL we're capable of beating them in any one given season and winning the division, like in 2010, but I don't see continued success over them until he's gone. If they draft another HOF QB, I quit. It's crazy, since I started watching football as a kid around 1993 or so, the Packers have made the playoffs in 17 out of 22 seasons. The Bears have only been 5 times in that same span. I'm pretty numb about it these days.
  10. Not that it matters much, but it seems nobody really knows how old White is. Some sites list his DOB as 6/25/92, others 6/25/93. I've found several forum threads debating it. If it's the former, he'll be 24 before playing his first NFL snap.

  12. Ah yes, I especially delight in the Packers fans who pretend not to care about Favre because they succeeded in the 1 in a million chance of finding someone better.
  13. No problem at all going for it on 4th down. Mariani was wide the hell open and Cutler missed him. It's easy to say "get the 3" in hindsight having scored that last touchdown, but you can't just say "don't go for the TD because you won't get it" and then just assume they'd be able to get the one at the end. I'd have to imagine the chances of scoring on a 4th and goal from the 4 are better than driving the field in the closing minutes and ending with a touchdown, even though that's what they did.
  14. If the current line holds the Bears will be favorites for the first time all season.
  15. [expletive]. I really hate how in-season trading isn't a thing in the NFL.
  16. I don't know how realistic trading Forte would be at this point, but it really does need to happen.
  17. I think if we can manage to get to 10-6, that'll be good enough this time. Atlanta has two games remaining against Carolina, one against Minnesota, and away games at JAX and TB, which are should-wins but those teams are good enough for an upset now. GB has Minny twice, us on T-Giving, and a road game at Arizona. I don't think it's far-fetched for one of those teams to fall short of 10-6, probably Atlanta. If we lose one of the DEN and GB games we'll have to run the table from there, which, regardless of schedule I wouldn't trust this team to do. 8-8 or 9-7 and just short of the playoffs is probably the most realistic scenario at this point, unfortunately. Next year should be really fun though.
  18. fantasy humblebrags? Yes, I'm passive-aggressively bragging that I had 2 of the Top 5 RBs in football, both of whom went down with season-ending injuries and therefore screwed my season. Also that 3 of my 5 keepers will be returning from torn ACLs next year, with 2 of those 3 guys being old and thus will probably never be the same. C'mon? It was a slow morning at work so I just debriefed my fantasy situation to a board that I know doesn't care. That's all it was. Boredom.
  19. Le'Veon and Charles were my starting RBs going into the season. Whoops. Thank God I chose Latavius over Foster in the draft, or I'd really be fucked. I now have a RB corps of Latavius, Langford, Blue, and Spiller. The fact that we're doing 5 keepers next year kept me from being able to handcuff DeAngelo, and I lost the claim for Charcandrick West. FML. 12-team league and I'm still in first place at 7-2 thanks in part by having Julio and Jeffery as WRs. I really don't know how much longer I can stay afloat at RB though, especially if Forte comes back soon. The good news is that my 5 keepers next year will be Le'Veon, Charles, Jordy, Julio, and Jeffery. Latavius and Langford (likely a starter in 2016) are also options if any of the 3 ACL rehabs don't go well.
  20. Considering Jeffery and Langford had great nights and Gould sucked, I'm pretty sure you won, yeah?
  21. I'll always love Forte but considering Langford is fun and has a future on this team, I kind of hope the former doesn't come back so soon.
  22. I saw a mid-season mock the other day that had us taking Ezekiel Elliott at 10. Lord...
  23. Funny that Trestman would "reward" intensity when he himself was the complete antithesis of it.
  24. Goldman probably a factor. I could see a player like Ratliff not responding well to losing PT to a rookie. Also I used to like Hood but I can't imagine getting cut by the Jags bodes too well for him.
