  1. This. And if you're a Cub fan and rooting for the Cardinals...you're a sick human being. that's only, like, your opinion man For true Cub fans, especially those born and raised on Cubs baseball in Chicago, I think it holds up as gospel. You wouldn't see a Chicago Bears fan rooting for the Packers to win a Super Bowl. you make some pretty big generalizations but, i guess i am not a "true" cubs fan...thanks for putting me in my right place
  2. right, i don't know how that makes any sort of point connecting him to being a solid team player though
  3. just an all around team player Go Bradley Go
  4. not the whole reason, but definitely a large portion
  5. Report: Padres would consider Bradley trade Padres general manager Kevin Towers indicated Friday that he's open to working a trade for the Cubs' Milton Bradley this offseason. "I haven't had any calls from Jim [Hendry] about him," Towers told ESPN.com. "But I think people kind of know what players we target. We have to take chances sometimes." The Padres have a decent outfield of youngsters, but the relaxed atmosphere in San Diego could help Bradley flourish and revitalize his career. He hit .313/.414/.590 in 42 games there in 2007. Sep. 25 - 7:16 pm et Source: ESPN.com i wonder what we could get from San Diego? eckstein?!
  6. The fans already booed him every step he took. The status quo was unacceptable. They couldn't just have Milton repeatedly insulting the organization and the fans, refusing to play and fighting with personel. Why couldn't they? You're basically saying that personal feelings and what the fans think are valid reasons for making a decision. When you're making big decisions based on fans and feelings, you're failing at your job. Can somebody find that quote from Hendry years ago about this very situation? It was something like "the day I let the fans dictate what decision I make is the day I am no longer doing my job." Well, that's exactly what he's doing. This season was already lost. Bradley can do or say whatever he wants the rest of the season, it's hurting NOTHING. You know what DOES hurt? Suspending a guy and diminishing what little value he had left. From a business perspective, there was absolutely no advantage of suspending him. NONE. He did it for personal feelings and to please the fans. That's really awful. This isn't about Hendry and his feelings. This is about Bradley acting like an idiot for the entire year. Hendry and Lou pushed for and believed in this guy, and he crapped all over the whole organization. The Cubs gave him 30 million dollars and a 3 year deal. That's how much they respected the guy, and it wasn't reciprocated. If you are going to under perform that's fine. No one can predict how ones going to do year after year, but at least have the class to respect the team and the org. That's not a hard thing to do, and Bradley didn't do it. You can't have a player diss the fans, players, and org and not discipline him. Oh you cant? So then why hasnt Z ever been suspended? Hes punched a player on his own team, hes got into a verbal arguement on the mound with his manager, and hes made quotes this year about wanting traded because hes tired of this....Double standards gotta love them round 3?
  7. i am guessing this is our "big offseason thread" which one was bigger BRob or Peavy? i wonder if bradley can compete...
  8. what do you want hendry to do? have tea and crumpets with milton tomorrow? take a walk in the park? frankly, i am confused by your outrage over the hendry quote, and i can't stand hendry
  9. ok, i got it Z = annoying/charming spoiled brat syndrome MB = THE PLAGUE
  10. this is ridiculous! what should the front office have done with Z in regards to his past actions?
  11. i just experienced the weirdest feeling of deja vu the past couple pages of this thread
  12. You don't think there's an actual reason they suspended Bradley and not Zambrano? Or do you think they just did it on a whim? I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here. That Zambrano gets unjustified preferential treatment over Bradley? I think his point is that people are acting like Bradley eats babies from his actions in public. right, but i haven't seen any evidence that people are acting at all like this
  13. Xenocide Will Ender's Game every see the light of day in theaters? Zambarno hopes so. *
  14. Seriously, why do you care? This isn't like the Jays not wanting to trade Halladay within the division. cause it is interesting Alex? I think he's wondering why you'd 'shart' if Bradley didn't go to an A.L. team. Would it be surprise that an N.L. team would want him to play in the field, or that you don't want the Cubs to face him? because it really seems like the only fit for him, especially after the latest debacle why put him in another high profile situation, if he DH's then he is reducing his team requirements and level of duty if you will just my opinion, but i was of the same mind last season before hendry signed him to man RF everyday
  15. Seriously, why do you care? This isn't like the Jays not wanting to trade Halladay within the division. cause it is interesting Alex?
  16. This is dead on. Agreed. This is Sosa all over again. 16 mil went to Baltimore in that deal, if I'm not mistaken. Not comparable player situations, but financial definitely. I can't believe the idea of Hendry being fired isn't being talked about at Clark & Addison. My guess is that they'll see it as "one bad signing" when in reality it was an expensive risk not worth taking and one that had little chance of success from the moment Bradley signed. Especially when there were plenty of other options out there. i really don't think so, hendry is in some serious hot water right now, which was highlighted even more from recent events hendry is going to get canned/demoted
  17. Olney On Bradley, Jays, Wood By Ben Nicholson-Smith [september 22 at 11:33am CST] ESPN.com's Buster Olney hears that the Rangers probably wouldn't welcome Milton Bradley back. Here's the latest on the now-suspended outfielder, along with the rest of Olney's rumors: * Olney says the Cubs will likely have to eat a huge portion of Bradley's contract to move him, perhaps as much as $18-19MM. The Cubs owe the 31-year-old $21MM over the next two years. * The Padres may be looking for a corner outfielder this offseason, so they could have interest in Bradley. * Olney says baseball people presume Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi will be fired. (What do you think?) If the Jays cut ties with their GM, Cubs scouting director Tim Wilken could be a candidate to replace him. bradley to the padres!?!?!? if bradley doesn't get shipped to an AL team i will shart
  18. yeah, not much Chicago experience here, but I did live in Dallas for 5 years. Very taken aback by how much racism floats around in the Lone Star state, didn't get that vibe in Chicago, but i also didn't live there for 5 years
  19. anything is possible in this situation, i would love to read an in-depth interview with Milton to see what is exactly going on in that head of his
  20. i doubt that his child was taunted himself, but it is possible that bradley was taunted while his son was with him...which is basically the same it is terribly sad if true, and if it is true...those folks are just scum
  21. fox for pie straight up?
  22. beautiful man :good:
