I forgot what/who I was listening to or reading, they basically said the Rays are incredibly hard to deal with and they didn't see the Cubs doing anything with them for a number of reasons. According to Heyman, they've been holding Maddon against us. Wondered if they still are. Great work on their part. It sure brought this whole organization down.

The true visionaries are able to get 200 PAs of sub-.300 OBP from a guy in the lead-off spot, while wasting the same guy's .400 OBP over his next 200 PAs in the 8-spot.

Good stuff. The Cardinals have discussed moving Dex out of the leadoff spot. I didn't realize Dex had fallen back that far with his numbers. He got hot there for awhile to the point where his stats looked good. It would appear that was on May 19, when I noticed he was above .800 OPS. He's 1-23 since then.

I mean, didn't they sweep a four-game set in 2015? ETA: If I'm wrong, I apologize and did not intend to spread false info. That they did. Though I believe Ding Dong is referring to the last time we played the Giants, in the NLDS. That series in 2015 was awesome, though. It was basically the start of the Super Cubs.

We didn't really have to worry about it last year, but getting a win with your shitty 5th starter on the mound, right before heading off for a road trip is a great feeling.
