  1. I have no idea why you've come to the conclusion that he doesn't want to play for the Cubs.
  2. Sounds about par for the course. Par for the course from Sullivan? Agreed, cause that's definitely not what happened.
  3. I guess nobody wants to weigh in on this? I'll probably go with Jones or Jackson (right now have them in that order).
  4. if Crabtree is going to sit out the entire season I think Morgan could have a nice season, fantasy points wise.
  5. This. I could really care less who they have sing the stretch. Hell, I can change the channel if I don't want to see it. The interviews (both radio and TV) are absolutely brutal about 80% of the time. It's not really the fault of Pat, Ron, Len or Bob. They usually just don't have anything to talk about except pimping some stupid project I don't care about.
  6. Is he an idiot? to some extent, yes. he's starting Fred Taylor as his 2nd RB right now but is pretty loaded up at WR. problem is he won this week so he won't be in a desperate state. nor should he be of course.
  7. pick one: Hightower v. JAC F. Jackson v. TB J. Jones v. SF other starter is Forte v. PIT (ugh). What I'd really like to do is trade Jackson to the guy who has Lynch. Or maybe get him to trade Lynch to me.
  8. I figured they had a good chance to lose, but this far worse than even my nightmare scenario. Cutler throwing 4 INT (I'd say two probably weren't he fault, but whatever), Urlacher out for the season and Tinoisamoa out for awhile. Loosing Urlacher is one thing but losing both he and Tinoisamoa is a disaster IMO.
  9. I'm sorry, but why are some people assuming that a group of 30+ year olds (some with huge injury concerns, and some with regression concerns) are all of the sudden going to stay healthy and productive next year? I really don't understand why people are going out of their way to defend a guy who is below-average to average at his position, about to be 30, has a pathetic OBP (particularly for someone with no power) and is about to be due a pay raise. I don't have a problem with Theriot, per se, but I don't see any reason at all why they Cubs shouldn't look to upgrade if they can reasonably do so.
  10. fair enough. there's no denying Bradley has a bit of a history with these things. i still haven't seen evidence of him calling the entire fan base rascist or any other reason why he shouldn't be the Cubs starting RF next season. certainly people need to stop acting like his play is a problem.
  11. well, whatever. it's too bad it's gotten to this point. i admit Bradley shares some of the blame, but it's still way over the top at this point.
  12. they should probably be paying you to go watch these disastrous teams.
  13. Yes, he started the whole thing about feeling hatred. I'm sure part of him feels he is treated differently because he's black (which is probably partially true for some fans). I didn't see him say anything (vaguely or not) that accused the Cubs fan base of being rascist though. edit: I honestly don't remember how the "hatred" story started. Did they ask him about how fans treat him or did he just randomly bring it up?
  14. Please show me the time Bradley cried to the media about fans being racist. I don't want to split hairs, but this comment while not coming out and stating that Cubs fans are racist, I think his intent is pretty clear: "America doesn't believe in racism. All I'm saying is I just pray the game is nine innings, so I can be out there the least amount of time as possible and go home." - Milton Bradley Right. That was his response to a reporter asking him if the mistreatment he received (in his mind, anyway) was due to racism. I definitely don't see how this constitutes "crying to the media about fans being racist."
  15. Please show me the time Bradley cried to the media about fans being racist.
  16. I think if we're at the point where the teams color guy is now ripping him publicly than Bradley isn't going to react well and probably will do something stupid to force the issue, even if Ricketts would prefer to keep him around. Can't imagine he's the kind of guy to just shake-off public criticism from Brenly. That's the risk they ran signing Bradley and it's going to blow up in their face. It's no secret he's brought some of it on himself. But he hasn't done anything to the level people might have really feared coming in. He kept quite when he was playing terrible in April/May and constantly admitted publically (when he did speak publically) that he was playing poorly and needed to get better. No excuses. He worked hard to get better and has been great since June. Then when he continued to get booed in June/July/August/now September, he (perhaps stupidly) spouted-off about not being supported as much as he'd like. He was probably right, but it's admittedly stupid to say that publically when the team is tanking. I'm sure if Lee makes those comments in the same situation, nobody bats and eye. Then some reporters bait him with some stupid race questions and he makes a harmless smart-alec reply which people insanely skew to claim he's playing the race card and calling Cub's fans racist. Bradley had a rep coming in that was likely deserved and he probably needs to be even more humble/cliche'/modest/etc. than the next guy because of that rep. But he hasn't done a single thing this season to deserve the treatment he's gotten from fans, journalists, broadcasters and posters. It's simply amazing to me that people are buying this garbage. So you don't "like" the guy. Get over yourself. If I had to be bombarded with the crap Bradley gets on a daily basis in the middle of a disappointing season, I'd freaking snap. And so would most of the people who are trying to railroad him out of Chicago.
  17. Another reason why I would be trying to get someone from the Red Sox chain in here. No way anyone from an organization that treasures OBP. is going to let Milton go. But, if Hendry is still here that will happen. Just like after '04 when we had to get rid of both Moises and Sammy. Then we will repeat '05 next year. With '06 not too far away. I'm absolutely convinced Bradley is gone at this point.
  18. What a mess. Might as well pile on, Bob. Everyone else is. I hope they're all happy with a Fuld/Johnson platoon in CF next year and Fukudome in RF because that's where we're headed after Bradley gets traded for nothing and we're paying him to play elsewhere. That's okay, the little bit of money they shred trading Bradley will go toward a veteren catcher to take Soto's place. World Series, here we come.
  19. My prediction is looking awfullly good right now maybe a little optimistic
  20. If Theriot and Ramirez make outs, Bradley gets plunked.
  21. I'd rather see Fukudome back up top.
  22. The biggest problem (aside from the obvious fact that the Cubs just aren't that good) is that they only play three games against the teams in front of them. It's certainly possible, but the odds against are just staggering at this point.
  23. Sort of back on topic: Oh look, more reporters taking absurd shots at Bradley. There you have it. Has done little since his June 15 comments about wanting to improve from where he was going into that series against the White Sox in June. Indeed a line of .293/.433/.447 makes Bradley the Cubs' "biggest disappointment" in the world of Tim Sassone. Perhaps Steve Stone was the ghost writer of this article. The fact that people are still claiming that Bradley played the race card is amazing.
  24. i'm just not a fan of playing the clearly inferior player, even if he's hot. splitting time for a few weeks or something is one thing but it seems Soto has pretty much been outright benched at this point. regardless, i admit it's probably not worth getting worked up about considering the circumstances.
  25. Hill has an OPS over 1000 the past 4 weeks, Soto is below 500 for the same time period, what's the big deal? It's probably not a big deal in the sense that the season is likely over, but Soto is clearly the better player regardless of what Hill has done the last four weeks. Who do you think is likely to have the better OPS in September?
