what do you mean by this? I cant decipher Some of the elite posters on here are saying the Cubs are winning the division. The Cubs didn't lose a game in the race tonight. Which means the elites are one game closer to being correct. I still don't think they will be, but I certainly hope they are.

Maddon should try something way outside the box by telling our core guys to not show up to the park tomorrow. You are likely going to lose, but they probably would any way, and now he manufactured a real day off for the regulars.

Question: Can the Cubs still trade for a reliever even though he’s not eligible for the postseason, or is there a date where no trading is allowed?

This is baseball and it is a crapshoot. It’s never okay to root for your team to miss the playoffs I think he'd tell you he was posting while emotional. Sometimes emotional posting leads to people saying things they don't really mean.

Question: Why would you root for then to miss the playoffs? Like, how does that help next season? The amount of extra rest wouldn't be that great.

Question: Why does a lot of our seasons since we have been good almost always come down to fatigue, except for the year we won it all and nobody played the last month? We lost in the 2015 NLCS because we were gassed, lost in the 2017 NLCS because we were gassed and now we might not even win the 2018 division because we are gassed. Is this actually why almost all teams eventually lose?

It's already a crapshoot, and then I look around the NL and what the playoff picture might look like, and it's a super crapshoot. I could for sure see them go on a playoff run.

Nah, man. You aren't giving yourself enough credit. If they hold onto this, I don't care what teams they hold off, you are going into the Hall of Fame even before you retire. This isn't a head to head type race where everything is equal. I hate when people use the tired thing as an excuse, but there is a good chance it's real. And it isn't getting better any time soon. Add in injuries, etc., and if you are right about this, it's a lot better call than just picking the more talented team. No offense to Duke, but what is really so amazing about what he’s predicting? He’s got a 50% chance of being right? They’ll either win the division or they won’t. What am I missing? You're missing that one team is winning a ton of games and is streaking in the positive direction, seems healthy, is properly rested and has an easy sked the rest of the way going up against an injured, tired and shitty team.
