I love dongs as much as the next guy, but I do enjoy some versatility, where we don't need to flash dongs to still have a healthy day on offense. That's...not the right way to use 'versatility'. A home run is the best possible result of every offensive at bat. It's like playing blackjack and hoping to occasionally get 16s and 17s rather than 21. What I'm trying to say, is that there will be some days when dongs are a lot more difficult to come by. Wind blowing in or facing some dude who doesn't give up dongs or playing in a giant park. I like an offense that can slug, but I also like one that can score a bunch of runs when slugging is made more improbable.
