It’s really not about this year. I mean, he could be pretty good and it wouldn’t be shocking. The issue with Jake is how will he fare over the years of th me contract and will his production justify the dollars. Good move in letting him walk. If he pitches well this year, he's only got two years left after this one. It's really not going to be a big deal at that point. The reason the narrative is out there about the Cub regretting not signing him is that Yu has been disastrous so far and the two are going to be compared to each other for the next six years. So long as Yu turns out OK for the first four seasons of his contract, all is well.
