  1. You guys are going to feel pretty silly next year when we're stacked with good, young, cheap players and still have $60 million to spend. We have the front office guys everybody has been drooling over for years, and after 2 months the posters on NSBB are already way smarter than them.
  2. Much more promising than some of the other prospects listed. Works in the low 90's and tops out at 97mph. Seems to have started to figure things out. The other two Coddington and Ward make absolutely no sense. The other name he gave me was Yorman Rodriguez Corcino and Rodriguez. Yes please. You're kidding right? I think you guys need to come way down off your prospects expectations. I wouldn't trade Wood for Marshall straight up as it is, so if it's anything but low level filler guys I'll be surprised. Coddington/Webb makes much more sense. Well I wouldn't have traded Marshall without getting Votto in return, so you better prepare yourself.
  3. A bunch of people on the reds site seem to think we'd be willing to pay Soriano's entire salary just to get rid of him. What the hell would be the point of that? Reds fans are stupid.
  4. And here we........... Go. Cindy Lou is furious. I was trying to think of a way to incorporate that. I need to start going to my improv class again.
  5. Teams are getting super-stingy with their prospects. We might have been able to get some higher-ceiling low level guys, but personally I love guys who are ready to contribute with 0 or 1 years of service time. Those are highly valuable assets. I was being a prick and making fun of that guy.
  6. It's not that Wood is a horrible return. It's that Marshall is one of the most dominant relievers in the game and we find it hard to believe that the Cubs weren't able to get a better offer for him. I know, if we were going to trade Marshall, we might as well have gotten better players.
  7. Will be a pretty short-sighted move if my sources are wrong and the Pirates did win. They could send him down to the Indy Indians and he'd be a thorn in the Mudhens side for years.
  8. The chatter from my sources indicates that the Pirates did not win the bidding. I'll update when I have confirmation.
  9. Farnsworth reminds me of Jeff Francoeur, so here's a story: I was in a collector's store this weekend and they were charging $20 more for a Jeff Francoeur autographed ball than an Andre Dawson signed ball. I'm going to start sending the owner bi-daily death threats.
  10. If you're mad about Soriano's contract, you shouldn't be all that envious. It seems like the Marlins will probably be stuck with a couple stinkers a few years from now.
  11. You should have stopped at Lawrie. Lind is a worse, left-handed Soriano. His OPS+ has been under 100 for the past 2 seasons. The first three would be really good, though.
  12. Very well done Tim. I liked the item about Braun not entering the league as a selective hitter, but becoming one under Sveum. I sincerely hope that something similar to that can happen with Castro, Vitters, Castillo, Jackson. We need to make "Own the Zone" into the kind of gimmicky song that Cubs fans seem to love. If Swame can turn Jackson into a selective hitter then he deserves HOF
  13. Most likely/ least likely to turn things around: Simpson, Jay Jackson, Austin Reed.
  14. Oh THAT'S it? The proclamations I make on how rebellious and edgy my posts are? Why didn't you say so my main man bro?!!??! Don't mind them. This is just some initial hazing. Keep up the awesome jokes and you'll be part of the crew in no time.
  15. Wood makes many times more than me, but I still want to buy him things.
  16. AREYOUACOP? Give credit where credit is due, assholes. This is the best post in the thread. That being said - you should go out on top and never post again.
  17. Sandberg's a raging anus for his HOF speech, for never diving for balls and for being a narcissistic curmudgeon who thinks his poo smells like fresh-cut Wrigley grass compared to the kids these days who spend more time standing on lawns than they do working on fundamentals. He's not a raging anus because of his slutty ex-wife, but that's what makes his slutty ex-wife hilarious. I think it's about time for you to find something to compliment "raging anus".
  18. The awful things said about Sandberg here border on insane. And then there are the people who are just ignorant talking about how he'll have Pujols bunt in the 1st inning. He was told he wouldn't be interviewed and then went out of his way to praise the Cubs. He probably won't be the greatest manager, but it takes people with some serious problems in their lives to have such bitterness towards someone like Sandberg.
  19. I like that this thread has turned into a successful shakedown. Get paaaaiiiid, Tim
  20. If stupid Cashner hadn't gotten hurt, he probably would've been in a great spot to headline a package for Felix with only having to throw in like Vitters and Lake.
  21. Check it out, guys! He's one of us! I hope you choke on your cousin's breast milk.
  22. That's nice. Meanwhile, I hope all of your butts fall out the next time you [expletive]. GOOD DAY! (I'm just acting tough online. I want to be friends with everyone.)
