    What the hell for? So he can play on a crappy team for a year, get a 2 year extension, get as many at-bats as possible, and reach 3000 hits/500 SBs... I think Kurt's plan is a little flawed Damn. If he can get to 3000 hits, he's going to be Ted Williams over the next several years. Sign him today.

    It seems like the Marlins got boner over the thought of saving $1m and jumped on it. Bogusevic seems like the kind of guy you can get off the waiver wire at any time.

    Yeah, panicking and running to Samardzija in the middle of the winter meetings because you can't get what you want in a trade doesn't make sense. They aren't on any tight deadline if they know they want an extension. Seems much more likely that they're trying one last time to get him to come down on his extension demands or trying to gain a bit of leverage in a trade.

    Sure could've fooled me. Not a difficult thing to do. You really think the Ricketts weren't planning/hoping to have the renovations underway at this point and the new ad revenue in place? The league should really look into this sabotage. Bad for the game. Purposefully making less money? Something doesn't smell right.

    Can we have an offseason thread where Kyle isn't allowed? It'd be nice to stop by for updates without having to weed through page after page of his tedious whining. EDIT: I should mention that a mere blocking would not do the trick, as he manages to pull everyone else into his tediousness.

    gross I hope that isn't true Yeah, what an idiot, being all happy knowing that our top prospects are going to be awesome major leaguers. Makes me wanna puke, what with his confidence that we'll have a better future than the stinking Yankees. Bring back MacPhail/Hendry, they are true pros. yeah, on a day where two NL central teams played for the right to go to the NLCS and the cubs were apparently spurned by their top managerial choice, I would be kinda grossed out by theo walking around with his chest puffed out about a 19 year old's 4-5 day in a glorified scrimmage. I mean, i'm pumped about the farm system too, but I bet girardi gives zero [expletive] about albert almora. and I understand that if theo did say this (which I really doubt) he was likely joking. I wanna party with you!

    Kris Bryant walks because he's getting sick and tired of your BITCHING.

    Longoria did walk just once in his 26 games at AA his first year, but walked plenty that year in A+ and A-. But for the year, he had a slightly lower walk rate than Bryant this year.
