    They are doing a full Jim Hendry rebuild. I don't mean that entirely as an insult.

    pretty sure when he was drafted his myspace (haha) page was posted and it had Sox stuff all over it. Yeah I mentioned on the last page. White Sox stuff but mainly anti-Cubs pictures and jokes. I was trying to see if there was a way to pull up his old page today but came up empty. To be fair, when you say "White Sox stuff" it's safe to assume it's actually anti-Cubs stuff. I went to a WS game when I was like 10 (when they were my 2nd favorite team) and was really weirded out that all the merchandise was just anti-Cubs.

    I never know until today that Samardzija was a lifelong WS fan, but by the looks of him, I think I always knew.

    Hopefully that's less than they were planning to spend on their 2nd tier starter and gives them more wiggle room with Lester.

    The only thing it confirms is that they think Maddon is better. Since he's considered by most to be the best in the game, it might not say much at all about Renteria.

    I wanted Friedman at the time, now it'd be a toss-up. I've soured on Friedman slightly (from best in the league, to like, 3rd) and I really like what Theo has done, building this horde of monster hitting prospects.

    Do they have their B team doing the league rankings or something, they've all seemed pretty bad.

    I'm guessing Samardzija gets dealt this offseason so they can begin to rebuild their farm system.

    Pedro did not agree with Yost bringing in Ventura.

    Maybe it's just because there aren't many Pirates fans, but they don't seem to have the middle child complex that Brewer and Reds fans have, they don't call themselves the best fans in baseball, and we both usually suck together so there's some camaraderie there. I want a Pirates/Royals or Pirates/A's WS. I would also accept either the Orioles or Nationals. Angels would be ok, I guess. Just not the Dodgers or Cardinals.
