  2. did they say that ramsey shoots 37%? how does a d-1 player shoot 37 percent from the free throw line???
  3. why's that guy wearing long sleeves? i don't think i've ever seen that
  4. they're really not. im surprised theyre still playing.
  5. wow this is fun! 7-0 now after a soriano ground rule double.
  6. did you know that he works at wrigley field?
  7. How much does he drink though? You don't have to be drunk to be over the legal limit. If he's going out and getting plastered every single night, sure, he's probably got a drinking problem. But if he's having a few beers per night, might be over the legal limit and doesn't want to risk a DUI, I don't think that's a drinking problem. i think the important part of this is that the university hired someone specifically to drive him so that he doesn't get a dwi. when you have to have a designated driver on your payroll, there's something seriously, seriously wrong.
  8. he has a personal driver so that he doesn't drink and drive. if that's not a sign of a drinking problem, i don't know what is.
  9. that and the whole part about him losing a ton of games. more than any other year in kentucky history, iirc.
  10. love seeing duke get spanked. god they looked awful last night. missouri is really, really good. they put up a flippin hundred on the best D in the country. sick. they might just win it all.
  11. what? http://cbs2chicago.com/ncaa/cbs.ncaa.schedule.2.967459.html
  12. uconn and duke games tomorrow night for those in the chicago area.
  13. gathright will be to micah hoffpauir this year what ronny cedeno was to daryl ward last year. A guy who plays a different position and has little connection to him? I think he's saying that Gathright's use will be as a defensive replacement for Hoffpauir when he starts just as Cedeno frequently came off the bench as the pinch-runner for Ward. It's not an airtight comparison (as Cedeno did get a decent number of at-bats last year so that wasn't a majority of his role as it likely will be for Gathright) but it is a similar sort of relationship. The weaknesses of the 2nd players mentioned add value to the otherwise limited 1st players mentioned. close. i think that gathright will pinch run for hoffpauir when hoff pinch hits and gets on base, just as cedeno so frequently did for ward last year.
  14. Since we're here: Miles, Hoffpauir and Johnson are in Bako is probably the backup based on his MLB experience and his contract. The other spot either goes to another inf or Gathright. It makes more sense to add another inf since Gathright is redundant with John able to play the same postions. i don't think his contract has anything to do with it. he'll make, what 200,000 more than hill if he makes the roster? that's not significant at all.
  15. gathright will be to micah hoffpauir this year what ronny cedeno was to daryl ward last year.
  16. anyone able to find coverage maps yet? i really want to know what games i'll be watching tomorrow night
  17. there are two open spots on the 40 man right now...
  18. i'm curious which of you, or if either of you (cubinny and jerseycubsfan), have ever actually been to a game there, or even been in the area which you're talking about.
  19. two questions... does he deserve to be a hall of famer? and secondly, WILL he be a hall of famer?
  20. If that's what they sell for on the secondary market, why shouldn't the team sell them at that price? but do they really sell for that much on the secondary market? i've bought and sold plenty of tickets through that avenue, but that seems ridiculously high. even for yankees red sox.
  21. $5250 for a pair of tickets to sit 5 rows behind the dugout for a Yankees Red Sox game. are they freaking serious??
  22. replace the word "bako" with "nearly every single backup catcher in the history of baseball" and that sentence is more accurate.
  23. i was fully prepared to say "nolasco sucks/sucked" until i checked his BR page now just... he was really, really good last year. i guess i just generally assume former cubs prospects suck.
