After his year last year and now this injury that's turning out to be an aboslutely terrible contract. Possibly the worst in baseball as of right now.

Agreed, but I think the 2nd and 3rd rounds have potential to have every series be very entertaining. Whoever the Heat play in the finals should be entertaining as well.

When putting together fantasy rotations for the Cubs of the mid 00's, they consistently forget how big of a deal Juan Cruz was as a prospect. Had he been able to reach his ceiling he'd argueably have been our #2 in any fantasy rotation even if Wood remained healthy. Angel Guzman as well. -
If you read the article, you'd realize that he went out of his way to indicate that he's not invalidating anything. And I think he did a good job, in at least most of the capsule,s talking about whatever the given year/champ was of saying why they shouldn't be "invalidated" or have a footnote by at least providing one counter argument/theory/etc.

I would hope Wood is in consideration for the closer role. I know he just came back from the DL, but he has done it before and if he performs well he could potentially net us an ok prospect or two at the deadline. I think a trade deadline package for a good performing Kerry Wood at closer would be greater than a package for a good performing Dolis/Russell at closer package. If for no other reasons than he is Kerry Wood, has been a closer before, is a veteran, etc....

We could always bring him back as a FA in the offseason if we were to trade him this year

Has it been announced if Samardzija is going to be on any sort of innings limit this year? I would think they wouldn't want him to go much past 160, 180 at the most. -
I don't see how they can get to the Finals with Tannehill either. That team has all sorts of problems. I mean, after they traded Marshall, who's gonna catch the ball for them? Pass it to Udonis?

Last second/shot plays in the NBA are the [expletive] worst. A contested fadeaway jumper from the FT line is really the best shot (or even shot you want) you can get with over 20 seconds left????? Cool play, Memphis

Thanks for show up, Clippers. I could easily see Memphis sweeping this one, but I think LA gets one back home as Paul will have one game where he wins it alone. The Clippers just really aren't that good of a team (and by good team I mean title contender everyone had them pegged for with the Paul trade), imho. :unsure:

Ok. I disagree....but I understand that line of thinking. Yeah both teams at absolutely full health 100%, I think the Bulls in 5, 6 at most.

Are you assuming the Boston-Chicago series as everyone at full health here? No. I think Rose isn't going to be 100% for the playoffs even though he gets the first round to work out the rust and get back into shape. If Rose isn't close to 100% I think the Celtics win the series. And by saying 100% I don't mean necessarily all health wise, I mean from where he is at a basketball feel/skill stand point. He's missed a lot of time, it's hard to come back and just have the touch/feel for the game right away. Even if he is Derrick Rose (who if anyone could do it, I'd probably put my money on him).
