  1. With all due respect, Jake, your nicknames for your guys are the [expletive] worst
  2. Pffft. That's just reasonable fan concern. Nothing wrong with that! Who said the death threats came from Cubs fans? I know some Braves fans who are pissed that Dempster turned them down. Dempster isn't black or any other kind of minority (other than ginger and Canadian) so that rules out Cubs fans as leaving threats. They only do that to the colored's
  3. Drop A-Rod Add Edwin Encarnacion
  4. Maybe Theo/Jed/Ricketts aren't as open to eating as much of his contract right now with how he's produced lately and are seeing if a team desperate for offense is willing to swoop in a take on more of his salary
  5. Which is all the more reason to be pissed off we had a trade called off for our 36 year old FA to be pitcher who is probably around the 5th best available option for an organizational top 3 and MLB top 50 prospect guy
  6. Hmmmm WTF is that supposed to mean? Are they trading him somewhere else? Are they not willing to include him in a trade and that's the only guy we will take? Gammons is horse [expletive]
  7. Well Ned Colletti is still on the other side of negotiations here so, as always, don't rule anything out. We might get him to take Dempster, Soriano, and Marmol (along with taking on their full salaries) and give us Lee, Eovaldi, Gould and Webster
  8. The majority of the meatheads who make up the Wrigley attendance on a given night aren't in touch with the organization enough to boo Dempster over this. They likely have no idea who Delgado is, how great of a trade this could've been, no idea that this was a great move towards rebuilding, and they probably all love Dempster irrationally because they saw him do "funny" impersonations on ESPN/FOX once and also the fact he's white. Also his decision will be made before he makes his next start in Wrigley, most likely. As that would be a week+ away.
  9. Oh FFS. I'd tell him to cry about it, but apparently he already is. That's even dumber than the blindsided business. [expletive] this and seriously [expletive] you Dempster if the only reason you didn't accept was because of the media
  10. I just consulted with DaBum. He thinks we should all withold $50 from our cable (if your cable carries WGN/CSN), or our EI/MLB.TV subscriptions until Dempster is traded to the Braves.
  11. The Red Sox tried to re-acquire him at least once (I want to say I remember them trying more than once) when Theo ran the show there. So I think our FO likes him, whether or not they think he could fit into the plan here or if we have guys that would interest the Marlins is another stroy.
  12. He's sucked since last season, he had a sub .650 OPS last year also.
  13. 50-50, Jon? Get the [expletive] outta town. The trade could happen, unless it doesn't
  14. I never thought there would be a reason to hate Dempster, but if he torpedoes this thing I will have to reconsider my Dempster fandom
  15. Does that really matter? It's not like Delgado has a whole lot of say in stopping a trade or approving one. He doesn't have a NTC or anything I doubt anyone on either side of this (Jed, Theo, Wren) first thought was to talk to Delgado's agent. Especially if this thing is still not 100% done.
  16. Well Joe I'm happy that you have come to grip with the reality that you are indeed not a real reporter. [expletive] dick.
  17. Jeff Baker ***ducks*** Really, I'd like to see them trade Vitters while is value is high and get as much quality as they could. Then I'd immediately move Baez to 3rd in MiLB That's dumb Why? Because Baez has the most value if he sticks at SS. You don't move him off of SS until he either grows out of the position, proves he can't become an adequate fielder or once he's ready to come up the org. feels better about keeping Starlin at SS and moving Baez elsewhere. Baez hasn't done anything yet to prove he can/can't play SS long term and as long as he isn't completely butchering it out there right now he's worth keeping at that position (especially since he's a way off from MLB and in A ball). And I doubt Vitters value is that high right now where he will help net us a significantly better prospect in a trade that he'd be worth trading. He's still young and his value to us right now is to keep him in the system and see if he can become the starting 3B sometime in the next 2 years (as he's showing some good progress this year and is younger for AAA but still needs some seasoning). I also doubt the Dodgers value him all that high as they need 3B help at the ML level right now and have a legit chance of making the playoffs Vitters is still a year off +/-.

  19. Hopefully 2-3 of Lee, Eovaldi, Gould, Withrow, and Webster from the Dodgers.
  20. You guys think Delgado will step into the rotation and take Dempster's spot? Or will they put him in the minors to work on refining his stuff?
  21. What does Delgado all throw? Where does he typically sit with velo?
  22. If we got multiple pitchers with Delgado being one them it would be a great deal for Dempster
