  1. No Trout :-k . Is there a bigger compilation of backwards thinking, ignorant bigots out there than the BBWA?
  2. Just [expletive] dumb http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/7400000/Abe-Simpson-walking-in-and-out-the-simpsons-7414427-320-240.gif
  3. Jackson/Leshoure and Sproles Need a 2 WR (Harvin is my #1) J. Jones v. ARZ, A. Brown @ NYG, or M. Floyd v. KC. I'm leaning Jones but am going between all 3 in my head.
  4. Exactly. That's my biggest issue with guys who write articles like those and guys who buy into it. They all act like it's sabermetrics goal to eliminate scouting. When in fact the organizations that embrace sabermetrics the most place a high value using scouting and sabermetrics insync with each other. And also it can't go without saying enough, if Billy Beane didn't get up on his high horse and go off and write a book and make a movie about how much smarter he his than the rest of baseball the sabermetric community wouldn't be under attack like it is.
  5. It would take a major miracle for the Cards passing attack to "wake up." Their o-line is an abomination and Skelton is a terrible QB. Matthews will get at least 2 sacks I think he's referring to Skelton's 290 yards last night. I had to do a double-take on that number because it seemed impossibly high for an offense that looked so ineffective. The yards per catch was low. I don't expect much from the Cards in Green Bay. Maybe their defense comes to play, and it keeps the score closer than the spread. Woah, he had 290 yards last night???? I would not have guess that watching the game, the Arizona offense looked horrible. Especially the pass game, but I guess thinking about it that makes sense how many yeards he had. I want to say Gruden said in the 4th quarter they only had like 7 rush attempts the whole game.

  7. [expletive] whoever wrote that article. I'm not clicking on the link to give his article/site a hit.

    NFL Week 8

Part of it could be that MNF draws viewers in and of itself regardless of the matchup. Since they have to give every team 1 (or is it 2?) primetime games they know they can stick MNF with lesser matchups and the ratings/viewership will still be good.
  9. Soriano LF/Dejesus CF/Ethier RF would be the worst defensive OF in the history of history.

Being crazy, a huge distraction and a bad clubhouse guy on the wrong side of 30 all while beating your wife tend to keep guys out of the league.

    NFL Week 8

I thought it was the last 2 minutes that the clock stopped. That was my understanding of it as well
  13. I think their main concern, at least with Buerhle is to get someone to take most of his contract on. Getting quality player(s) is secondary, imo. Johnson is the guy they probably will look to get a good return as he is owed less (both years and $)
  14. Would Harden have been a lock for the Olympic team if guys didn't get hurt/decide not to play (Rose, Wade, Bynum, Griffin, Howard, etc.)? Not trying to take away from his skill/accomplishment I think he's a good player, but I don't think he's more than a 2nd option on a championship team.
  15. He also isn't going to have 1 top 3 player and another top 15 player on the court to create more space and not have the defense focus on him. He's a fine addition for the Rockets, but they won't be winning anything with him.
  16. Amare to miss at least the first 6 weeks after re-injuring his knee. Sweet contract, NY :good: I didn't see them finishing better than the 5 seed this year with him healthy http://espn.go.com/new-york/nba/story/_/id/8571019/amare-stoudemire-new-york-knicks-likely-six-weeks-re-injuring-knee-sources-say
  17. He would help Miami...... And it would be awesome to see. I fully endorse that move. As long as Lebron's mom has to sit courtside every game
  18. Mavs waive Delonte West today. Will be interesting to see if he gets picked up by someone with his history. If they could get him under control (mentally/personal issues) I think he could be a good addition to the Lakers to give them some back court depth.
  19. Where would we place the pitching in the AFL in relation to the pitching he will be facing next year at Daytona? I think the best of the best pitchers in the FAL are about the same, possibly slightly better, but on a whole he will face slightly lesser pitching in the FSL than the AFL. I think.
  20. A broken thumb is better than a broken wrist or ligament damage, I guess?
  21. Most NFL teams do nothing
  22. The Twins declined Scott Bakers option today. Sounds like they are working out a deal to keep him for cheaper as the option was for $9mm+. If he were to hit FA he'd be someone I'd be interested in. He's coming back from TJS but if he's recovering well and looking to sign a 1 year deal to re-establish value he could be a good pick up. He is 31, but has been around a 3 WAR pitcher for his career (ranging from 2.6-3.5 from 2007-2011). Could be someone added for cheap who gives us a little above league average production.

    NFL Week 8

Looks like pure speculation though. I think Jackson would be an excellent addition to the Packers, I don't think he'd offer much more to the Pats than they already have other than giving them what their 3-4 man RB rotation gives them in one player and not having to constantly sub guys in out depending on the situation.

    NFL Week 8

Makes sense. I've always thought the NFL trade deadline should be maybe 2-3 weeks later than it is, say around week 11-12 to let teams better figure out what their chances are and/or for the top teams to add a guy if they lose someone to injury after the earlier trade deadline. Not that it really matters as trades rarely happen in NFL during the season and not a ton really happen during the offseason outside of draft day trades for mostly picks. But I'd still like to see it moved back a few weeks. They did move it back two weeks this season. It's been in week 6 before. Now week 8. We're halfway through the season after tonight. I wasn't aware of this. I guess it's a step in the right direct. Still would like to see it be around week 11 or 12. They would have about 1/4 of the season left +/- depending on bye weeks after it passed.
